Marlene C. Pacilio

Marlene C. Pacilio, age 75, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Charles T. Sitrin Healthcare Center. Born in Utica on July 13, 1932, Marlene was the daughter of the late Dominick “Dick” and Catherine M. (Falatico) Pacilio. Raised and educated locally, she attended T. R. Proctor High School. A longtime employee of the General Electric Company, Marlene had served as a group leader at the Kent Street site and retired from the French Road location. At one time, she had also held various positions with PAR Technology and the Bendix Corp. A woman graced with a generously maternal nature, Marlene adored her family and was endeared in their hearts. Above all, her intuitive nature inspired her generosity of time and talents to those who needed a hand. Her devotion to those she loved comprised the greatest of her pleasures in life. She was an avid bowler, participating in many leagues, and enjoyed games of chance. Marlene loved the sun, and especially appreciated her vacations in Florida. Marlene is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and John Pardi of OH, and Geraldine “Geri” and Frank Voce of Utica; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Adele Pacilio of New Hartford, Anthony and Barbara Pacilio of Yorkville, and Dennis and Vickie Pacilio of FL; her many nieces and nephews to whom she was an aunt and second mother; her great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Anthony DeSalvo of Utica, and Betty Pacilio of Fairborn, OH; her dear and treasured friends Ellie Bianco and Phyllis Longo. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald F. Pacilio and Richard Pacilio; and her sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine “Rosemary” and William T. “Bill” Smith, and Doris M. DeSalvo. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of the Charles T. Sitrin Healthcare Center for the respect and dignity they offered Marlene and their special acts of kindness to her will not be forgotten. In keeping with Marlene's wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday morning at 9:00 at St. Mark's Church, North Utica. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St. corner of Hammond Ave.
