Mrs. Marietta D. "Marty" (Lorento) Constabile

NORTH UTICA – Mrs. Marietta D. “Marty” (Lorento) Constabile, age 92, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on September 3, 1925, Marty was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria (Barone) Lorento. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1953, she married Julius A. “Julio” Constabile with whom she shared 52 years prior to his passing on March 29, 2005. Marty missed him very much, and now they are reunited forever. Marty retired from the Homestead Savings & Loan Corporation and was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in North Utica. Her priority was raising her children and being an integral part of their lives as they grew. Marty welcomed all to her home and never spoke a harsh word of others. She loved to cook, bake, play card games, frequent the casino and mostly spend time with her family. She adored all her family pets past and present. She cheered on (and yelled at) her favorite NY Mets and Syracuse Orange basketball teams. Marietta is survived by her children, Carol Morton of Safety Harbor, FL, Sharon Constabile of Utica, David Constabile, and Richard (Mary) Constabile, all of Rome, NY, and the memory of her son-in-law, George Morton who preceded her. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jon-Michael Morton, Chad (Katy) Morton, Joel Guy, and Richard “Ricky” Constabile, Jr; great-granddaughters, Arianna and Penelope Morton. In addition to many nieces and nephews she leaves in-laws, Patricia Lorento, Patricia Lorento (MA), Camile Lorento (NH), Bonnie Constabile, and Matt Militano; her close friends, Eleanor DeVito, Carol Joaquin, and Shelley Kron. She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael Lorento, Vincent Lorento, and Anthony Lorento; in-laws, Mary Militano, Josephine and Floyd Caouette, Elizabeth and Anthony Ruggiero, Victoria and Francis Caille and 2nd husband Fred McCulloch, Pasqualina Constabile, Raffaele Constabile, Salvatore "Sam" and Ann Constabile, Frank and Bertha Constabile, John and Alice Constabile, Ralph and Marie Constabile, Anthony and Marie Constabile; nephews, Ralph “RJ” Constabile Jr, Brandon Bombace, Robert “Bobby” Lorento, Derek Lorento; and dear friend Veronica Clarke. The family is grateful to physicians Dr. Fred Talarico, PA/Pat Rosati, Dr. Julie Betro-Shkane, PA/Carolyn Smith, as well as the personnel of the Resource Center for Independent Living (RCIL) and staff of US Care Systems, Inc. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday morning at 8:15 from the funeral home and at 9:15 at St. Peter’s Church where her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. David Orzel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marty’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at https://www.stjude.org; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
