Mrs. Marie C. (Motto) DiViccaro

Mrs. Marie C. (Motto) DiViccaro, age 74, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on February 6, 1940, Marie was the daughter of the late Michael N. and Angeline C. (Coriale) Motto. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On August 27, 1960 she married Angelo E. DiViccaro, Sr. with whom she shared 35 years until his passing on August 1, 1996; together they were blessed with much happiness and love, and the gift of family. Marie was employed in the banking industry where she held various positions with a number of companies. She concluded her working career as an Executive Secretary for Southern Builders, from which she retired. As the matriarch of her family, Marie was a friend as well as a mother and mentor. She was feisty and energetic, always by her children’s side, whether camping, boating, traveling, or shopping. Quality time with her loved ones was what she treasured the most. She was so proud of her family, especially her grandchildren. During her leisure time, she turned to reading and watching game shows, and on warm days, she felt radiant and relaxed riding in her Pontiac convertible! She was a communicant of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Marie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tina M. and Joseph Diliberto, Jr. of Frankfort, and Andrea L. and Curtis Papelino of Las Vegas, NV; her sons and daughters-in-law, Angelo E. DiViccaro, Jr. and Gayle Clynne of Marcy, and Edward M. and Valarie DiViccaro of Yorkville; and her grandchildren, Danielle Diliberto, Andreanna Diliberto; Brianna Papelino, Jonathan Papelino; Anthony DiViccaro, Michael DiViccaro, Andrew DiViccaro, Katelyn DiViccaro, Nicholas DiViccaro; Taylor Clynne, Lindsay Clynne, and Matt Clynne. She will also be remembered by her brother and sister-in-law, Michael N., Jr. and Joann E. Motto of FL; her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, father-in-law, Joseph DiViccaro, Sr., sister-in-law, Annette DiViccaro, both of Florida, and her extended family members and friends, including Debbie DiViccaro, and Joseph and Nancy Diliberto. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Arcangela Mary DiViccaro; and her brother-in-law, Joseph M. DiViccaro. The family extends their thanks to the nurses and staff of the Brooklyn Household at the Masonic Care Community of NY for all the care and attention rendered to Marie during her stay. They would also like to thank the nursing staff at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care Center, especially Clarrissa and Debbie, for their tender care and support. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00-5:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the Abraham House in lieu of flowers; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Marie’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday morning at 11:00 from the funeral home and at 12:00 noon at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Tom Honold. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
