Mrs. Marie L. (Colucci) Bell

UTICA - Mrs. Marie L. (Colucci) Bell, age 89, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on April 20, 1933, Marie was the daughter of the late Martino and Teresa (Cammiso) Colucci. Marie was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1952. On July 2, 1955, Marie married Cosmo M. Bell. As a couple, they were inseparable, in accord, and in love for 63 years prior to his passing on April 18, 2019. At one time in her earlier years, Marie held a position with Bossert Manufacturing Company. More recently, she was employed as an office manager for Dr. Rasim Turksel for over 30 years until her retirement. A loving and caring soul with a beautiful heart, Marie’s most important job in life was raising and nurturing her family. She was a true matriarch, dedicated to meeting the needs of her loved ones, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Blessed with a helpful nature, Marie was always available to lend a hand or listen to the needs of others. She was a woman of humility, kindness, and understanding. A sociable couple, Marie and her husband were members of the former Sons of Italy. She enjoyed gathering with her friends of the I.A.M. (International Association of Machinists) where she served as treasurer, as well as traveling ventures and shopping excursions. She looked forward to gathering for her monthly luncheons with her fellow Proctor classmates. She also loved the thrills of her trips to the casino with her daughters. An adventurous lady, Marie loved traveling around the world with her husband, Cosmo, and had beautiful memories of trips to Myrtle Beach with her son Marty and his family. Marie was very spiritual and held her religious beliefs sacred. She was a faithful communicant of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Marie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary T. and Robert M. Ficarro, Teresa M. “Terry” Day, and Julie A. and Edward Faubert; son and daughter-in-law, Martin C. and Susan Bell; grandchildren, Robert Ficarro, Diane and Adam Zalewski; Carolynn and Jason Zima; Nina Faubert; Matthew, Austin Bell, and Alivia Bell; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Cameron, Asher; Aiden, and Alex; and her brother and sister-in-law, Vito and Lucy Colucci. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Frances Bell. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose and Luciano “Lucky” Guidera; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Mary (Pisano) Bell; and sister-in-law, Carmella Bell. The family wishes to thank Marie’s neighbor, Adam, for all his help over the last two years. Visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Marie's Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday morning, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
