Marian G. (Thompson) Wallace

Mrs. Marian G. (Thompson) Wallace, age 92 of Oriskany, New York, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Eastern Star Care Facility. Born in Utica, New York on May 1, 1914, Marian was the daughter of the late Paul S. and Edwina (Drought) Thompson. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Utica Free Academy with the class of 1932. She married Clayton L. Wallace on May 30, 1940. They shared a loving and devoted union until his passing on May 20, 1982. Marian worked as a bookkeeper at New Hartford Central School, and was later employed with the Foundation Office at Utica College, from where she eventually retired. Marian and her husband were very charitable people who graciously offered their time and efforts as volunteers at St. Luke’s Hospital for over 25 years. She also volunteered at Faxton-Heritage Nursing Home. Marian was a member of the Mohawk Valley New Hartford Chapter of Eastern Star and a Lions Club Auxiliary member. For many years, she was a member of the New Hartford Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Wallace is survived by her daughter and son in law, Sharon and (Richard) Schultz of Apache Junction, Arizona and by her son and daughter in law, Scott and (Sheila) Wallace of East Amherst, New York. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James and (Sandra) Theobald of Chandler, Arizona; Jodi and (John) Geloso of Ilion, New York; Bradley Wallace of Cheektowaga, New York; Todd and (Christine) Wallace of Rochester, New York; Kelly and (Walter) Andrews of North Carolina; and her step grandchildren, Daniel and (Melody) Schultz of Arizona, and Jody and (Don Marie) Schultz of Washington. She leaves ten great grandchildren: Renee Geloso, Noah Geloso, Sara Theobald, Andrea Theobald, Alexander Wallace, Emily Andrews, Sydney Andrews, Owen Andrews, and twins Leah and Megan Wallace. She also leaves a very special cousin, James Catchpole, several step grandchildren, two nieces, and a nephew. She also leaves a very special friend, Ruth Eberly. She was predeceased by her sister, Madeline Owen. The family offers its thanks to the nurses and staff at Pounder Hall and the Eastern Star Home, all of whom attended Marian with great care and compassion. A memorial Service will be held at the Eastern Star Chapel on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
