Lucille R. "LuLu" Trisolino

Lucille R. "LuLu" Trisolino, age 63, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on September 11, 1946, Lucille was the daughter of the late Joseph, Sr. and Lucy (Montanaro) Trisolino. Raised and educated locally, she attended Brandegee Elementary School, Our Lady of Lourdes School, and Utica Free Academy. A gifted artist and writer, LuLu was a true intellectual who was extremely well-read and versed in an academic vocabulary with access to literary allusions worthy of a classic scholar. She attended Utica College and pursued independent studies at various colleges and universities throughout the country. Lucille was so much more than the sum of her parts and so much more than the illnesses that plagued her throughout her life. She was the epitome of bravery and looked to her deep faith to get through each day. At one time, she owned a coffee shop in downtown Utica and was the proprietor of The Famous Hat Shop downtown adjacent to her family’s bridal shop. She was a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Lucille is survived by her siblings, Angela “Lee” LaBella who was her primary caregiver, and Gina and Luca Esposito, all of Utica, Elaine and David Seeley of CA, and Julieanne and Michael Houghton of VA; and her brother, Sebastian Trisolino of Utica. Survivors also include her cherished nieces and nephews, Gary and Jeanne LaBella, Stephen LaBella, Brian LaBella, Lucinda and Peter Jessup, Luanne Surace, Renee and Michael Worn, Joanne and Donald Lewis, Vincent Surace and Lisa Cimino, Celeste and Richard Padula, Lisa Roach and James Duffy, Joseph Trisolino, Darren and Eileen Johnson, Lance Johnson, Crystal and Frank Zegarelli, Luke Esposito, Marla Esposito, Eric Seeley, Dana Seeley, Trista and Peter Mason, and Taryn and Eric Rosenkranz; her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Lindsey LaBella, Carsen LaBella, Jordan LaBella, Christian LaBella, Devyn LaBella, Dakota LaBella, Noah LaBella, Aidan LaBella, Graham Jessup, Matthew Roach and his wife Sara, Sarah Roach, Amanda Roach, Alexis and Robert Rodriguez, Vanessa Worn, Austin Worn, Donald Lewis, Jr., Desiree and Dustin Toledo, Danielle and Raul Aguierre, Evan Padula, Ross Padula, Maya Padula, Leo Padula, Daniel Camerota, Michaela Sherman, Joshua Sherman, Dinali Mason, AnaBelle Mason, Savanah Mason, Reese Rosencrantz, Gabriella Wells, Lexie Wells, Frankie Zegarelli, and Anthony Joseph Zegarelli; her great-great-nieces and nephews, Raina Rodriguez, Marley Rodriguez, Celestina Worn, Celestine Toledo, Angelina Toledo, and Marabella Trisolino; her cousins; and her sister-in-law, Rosemary Trisolino of Utica. She was predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-law, Celestine and Ronald J. Surace, and Marie Johnson; her brother, Joseph D. “Mr. Jay” Trisolino, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Moses A. LaBella. Lucille had many unsung heroes in her life who did everything they could to ease her way – her friend since high school, Betty Toomey, the staff at Rite-Aid Pharmacy who filled her many prescriptions with love and kindness, and the many nurses, doctors, hospitals, nursing home personnel, EMT’s, the staff of Senior Network, and the Mobile Crisis Volunteers who helped her in countless ways through difficulties that would try and conquer a lesser spirit, and the many others who assisted and offered their compassionate care and attention. Her life had so many emergencies, until the last which called her home to eternal peace. In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lucille’s funeral service which will commence on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Entombment will take place in the family's private mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery.
