Mrs. Lucille E. "Lucy" (Gentile) Boulanger

N. UTICA - Mrs. Lucille E. “Lucy” (Gentile) Boulanger, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in the comfort and dignity of her home, in the loving care of her daughter. Born in Utica on May 6, 1928, Lucille was the daughter of the late Matthew and Michelina (Falvo) Gentile. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1946. On July 3, 1954 she married Norman Leo Boulanger with whom she shared a union graced by common love and the blessing of their daughter. They shared 31 years together prior to Norman’s passing in 1985. Lucy was employed by the General Electric Company at the Radio/Receiver plant where she worked as a tester for 20 years. A loving, kind, gentle woman, Lucy was a second mom to many, and her hospitality was second to none. As a mother, she was understanding and wise, and she taught her daughter how to be a good mom herself. When her grandchildren came into her life, she became actively involved in their lives, …and when they were with her, they were happy and well fed, and they adored her. When her great-granddaughter was born, she held her in her arms and her eyes were fixed on a new generation of joy. Family was the center of all her activities, and the core of her love. During her spare time, Lucy liked to sew, knit, and crochet, and she gave gifts of her handiwork to many over the years. Lucy is survived by her cherished daughter, Michele Boulanger who cared for her much with love; grandchildren, Brandon and Georgette, and Arieanna; and great-grandchild, Raelyn Mae. She also leaves her nieces and nephews who she loved as her own, Susan Gentile, Mark (Jodi) Gentile, and Dr. Matthew Gentile; and a great-niece and great-nephew, Christopher Gentile, and Nina Gentile; and numerous cousins. Lucy loved and adored her extended family, Anthony Plescia, and Michelle Gulla. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas J. and Mariangela Gentile. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lucy’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Tuesday morning at 11:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Social distancing, registration for contact tracing, and a mask covering your nose and mouth will be required.
