Mrs. Loretta M. (Marchione) Francis

DEERFIELD- Mrs. Loretta M. (Marchione) Francis, age 85, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on Monday January 9, 2023, at MVHS at St. Luke’s Healthcare. Loretta was born on April 25, 1937, to the late John and Congetta (Perretta) Marchione. She was raised locally, attending Wetmore Elementary School and graduating from T.R. Proctor High School in 1955. On November 23, 1957 she married Albert F. Francis, with whom she shared a loving and devoted union of 52 years prior to his passing on April 18, 2010. At one time Loretta held a position as an Assembler at the General Electric Company locally at both locations. She then accepted a position at the Indium Corporation on Lincoln Ave., and lastly at the Fleet Bank location on Horatio St., from which she retired. Loretta’s foremost priority in life was the gift of her beautiful family; she shared an unconditional love for them, always remembering special occasions. She loved golfing with her family, fishing with her husband, and baking, especially her soft cookies, sponge cake and her Italian delicacies. Loretta enjoyed creating beautiful beaded crafts and sharing them with her loved ones. She kept her mind sharp by playing cards and word games, only occasionally letting someone else win! Loretta also loved to dance, and even taught her children how to jitterbug! Loretta was very religious and loved her Catholic faith. She had a special devotion to and love for St. Anthony. Loretta is survived by her daughters and their loves, Concetta M. Francis and Tagrid Maher, and Tammy M. Francis and fiancé David Buskey; and her son and daughter-in-law, Albert A. and Margaret Francis. She was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, James Marchione, Charles and Nancy Marchione, Joseph and Sara Marchione, Samuel J. Marchione, Jennie T. and Frank A. Mucitelli, Phyllis and Jerry Pastorelli, Mary R. Lomonico, and Connie and Joseph Razzano. She is additionally survived by her sisters-in-law, Rosalie, Pat, and Carol Francis; and many close and special friends. She was preceded as well by her in-laws, Arthur “Archie” Francis, Edward and Pat Francis, Eleanor and Chester Pollack, Gloria and Roscoe Stocker, and Irene and Fredrick Bodurtha; and many wonderful friends. Loretta’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the physicians and staff of both the Mohawk Valley Health System and the Slocum Dickson Medical Group for their care and dedication; as well as to the staff of Dr. Morell’s office for their compassionate hearts. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Loretta’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave., Utica. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
