Mrs. Linda M. Pearson

UTICA - Mrs. Linda M. Pearson, age 45, went home to the Lord when she passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 after a courageous battle. Born in Herkimer on April 1, 1976, Linda was the daughter of Peter Decker and the late Mable Ann Downs who she truly adored. She was raised and educated in the Mohawk Valley. On May 21, 1999 she married Andre Pearson. They met when they were very young and grew into a wonderful woman and a good man. They were absolute soul mates and companions for life, and their 22 years of marriage and the blessings of four children enhanced their lives and their love for one another. Her husband never said “No” to her; he was her knight-in-shining-armor. Their life together was adventurous and amorous, and Andre made sure that her self-esteem was very high. Experiencing new maternal love that blossomed each time they had a child was Linda’s greatest blessing and legacy of her life. Linda and Andre were of one mind and one heart, and her passing has devastated him. Every time he looks at his children, he sees them through the lens of Linda’s characteristics that they inherited. Linda was employed by the Solid Waste Authority Recycling Center for Oneida-Herkimer. She was a hard worker with a diligent approach to the duties of her job. As a mom, she was equally up to the job. She had a cheerful, sweet disposition, was playful with her kids, and loved the safe shelter of her home and family. She was a passionate, motivated homemaker, devoted to caring for her loved ones. Linda was a great cook and proudly prepared dinner every day. Her lasagna and pasta dishes were outstanding, and she cooked special meals for Andre which included rice which was his “JAM”. They enjoyed backyard cook-outs with comfort food and conversations of years past, romantic rides, card games, and her favorite soap operas, Law & Order, ID Channel Episodes, and movies, especially Deadpool, and Venom. Linda was up for anything, and because she was so close in age with her children, they could relate to so many common interests. Her values and expectations were important to her. She loved her children unconditionally and accepted their accomplishments and tribulations with both pride and humility. She was also a human diary for each member of her family and provided comfort, counsel, and a close relationship with each of them. In fact, she had an uplifting impact on all the people in her life, and there were so many who loved and admired her. Linda loved everyone wholeheartedly, but God was first because without him, nothing good could come, and she never stopped learning that lesson. She worshipped the Lord and believed that He was always by her side. Linda is survived by her hubby, Andre, who she leaves so many smooches; her father, Peter; children, Andrea and Chelsea Pearson-Scott, Andre Pearson Jr., Dequan Pearson, and Brendalyn Pearson; and her brothers, Sean Downs, and Peter Downs, Jr. She also leaves her aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Nick, Shane, Tyce Jr., and Jeffery; cousins, especially Kandy who grew up with Linda as sisters and her husband Michael Bush and children, Marissa, Destiny, and Kaitlin; in-laws, Charles, Dawn (who Linda loved as her “Sissy Pooh”), Rashaun, and Tyce “TJ”; her wonderful neighbor Alicia with whom she was very close; and her “Besty” friend Shamiere; they brought out the best in each other when they would hang out. She was predeceased by her grandfather, and Nanna; and her uncle, Adrean Downs. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, June 27th from 2:00-3:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. Linda’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Sunday at 3:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
