Linda S. Jones

CLINTON – Linda S. Jones, age 69, went home to the Lord on Monday, September 15, 2025, as she was encompassed by the love of her family. Born in Utica on May 15, 1956, Linda was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dolores (Felski) Jones. She was raised in Oriskany Falls and educated in the Utica City School District. She earned her nurse’s aide certification at Manpower (now known as BOCES), beginning a lifelong and dedicated career in caregiving. Over the years, she worked for numerous local care companies. She was a hard worker who always put the needs of others before her own. Before her sister Nellie’s passing, Linda lovingly promised to care for her daughter, Lindsey— and she fulfilled that commitment by bringing Lindsey into her home and into her heart. Linda and Lindsey enjoyed each other’s company, shared many common interests, and often watched TV shows together. Linda was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees. She was a loyal follower of the team and knew all the stats. Linda also loved The Golden Girls and was current with national news. Linda spoke with passion, yet remained non-judgmental, accepting, and tolerant of others. She came from a large family of 10 sisters and 5 brothers. That background spoke volumes about how she lived her life, having been exposed to many different perspectives and countless blessings. She was generous and kind, especially toward those less fortunate, and her love for family was unwavering. Her nieces and nephews were a joy in her life, and she celebrated all of their milestones. Holidays held a special place in her heart. She was known as “the dessert lady” and always made sure the coffee was served. Always honest and truthful, she often reminded her family of important dates, celebrations, and other events. In her retirement years, going to the casino with friends became her favorite pastime. She appreciated the camaraderie it offered. She lived a life of selfless service to others, and her compassionate heart and unwavering devotion to her niece, Lindsey, were testament to this. For those who love animals, it is easy to appreciate the companionship she had with her late canine, Emma Rose, whom she doted on and celebrated life with. Raised Catholic, she knew prayers of comfort by heart, and whenever she could attend Mass, she drew great inspiration from it. Linda is survived by her daughter, Teri M. Savage; grandchildren, Devin Ayres, and Kieran Ayres; siblings and their spouses, Gerald “Jerry” and Linda Jones, Evelyn Flores, Sharon and Jim Kilts, Cheryl and Bob Santomassino, Deborah Jones and John Amodio, Janet Jones, Laurie Colon and Cosmo Giusti, Tracy Jones and John Costello, Raymond and Robin Jones, David and Marie Jones, Leonard and Mary Jane Jones, and Brenda Felski. She held close to her heart the memories of her siblings who preceded her, Lorraine Brown, Gary Felski, Nellie Jones, infant sister, Ramona Jones; and brother-in-law, Ramon “Mickey” Colon. She is additionally survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. During her life, she was blessed with many friendships that she held dear. She was further predeceased by her niece, Melissa Santomassino; and great-nephew, Baby Maximus John Ptak. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Wynn Hospital Emergency Department and ICU for their excellent care, great compassion, and sincere empathy; they were truly touched by everyone who crossed their paths. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings.
