Latisha "Tisha" Rogers

UTICA – Latisha “Tisha” Rogers, age 36, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Utica on September 28, 1988, Latisha was the daughter of Tisher (Rogers) Scarborough and Carmen Smith. She also knew the love and guidance of her stepfather, the late James Paul Scarborough, Jr. Raised in the area, she attended local schools. Latisha was a selfless woman, always thinking of others, and giving in her nature. She possessed a beautiful heart, and kept a smile adorned on her face. She was respectful in her demeanor, but those close to her knew not to take that for granted. “Don’t make her mad, cause you won’t hear the last of it!” Being quite artistic, she loved coloring and singing. She was especially uplifting in spirit. Latisha is survived by her mother, Tisher Scarborough and Luke Revill; father, Carmen Smith; children, Schwanika Rogers; Frankquest Jones, Franklin Jones, and Nazear Elliott; paternal grandmother, Cynthia Smith; and siblings, Schwanika Patterson, Dejanae Rogers, Kalise Scarborough, Jaquada King, Chloe Phillips, Antanique Frazier, Jaleak Scarborough, and Torry Smith. She further leaves her memory to a host of nieces and nephews, especially acknowledging Faith Honesty Rogers; aunts and uncles, especially acknowledging James “Quest” Selby, Ulysses Brown, Georgie McCovery, Anthony “Buff” Brown, Jeanette McCovery, Ike McCovery, and Nyetha McCovery; and cousins, especially acknowledging Julius Peak; godmother, Jessica Mercer-Harris; and dear friends, Merima Bell, Meeka Douglas, Quannie Watkins, A.Z., Hoggie, and Franklin Jones. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Willie Williams, Jr. and Delores Selby; and uncle, Willie Williams, IV. Latisha’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Albany Medical Center for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Latisha’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
