Keyamonie Aquay'jah Davis

UTICA – Keyamonie Aquay’jah Davis, age 19, departed this life on Friday, November 8, 2024, due to a senseless, tragic, and unexpected event. Born in New Hartford on April 18, 2005, Keyamonie was the daughter of Kimneshia Jackson and the late Reginald James Davis. She was enrolled in the Utica City School District, and a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 2023. Keyamonie was a vibrant and loving young woman, known for her radiant smile and infectious energy that lit up any room. Having such a versatile quality about herself, she made an impression on everyone she met. At the heart of her life was her three-year-old daughter, Ka’lani. She was not only a loving mother, but also a devoted sister. She shared a close-knit bond with her younger sister, Reginae, whom she looked out for and protected with unwavering loyalty. Keyamonie was a fierce protector of her close cousins and friends; not letting anyone bully them. Keyamonie had a flair for beauty and self-expression. A makeup and hair enthusiast, she always perfected her look, as well as helped her family and friends look and feel their best. Many, many times, her Grandma Pookie would find her living room in disarray with hair, hair care products, various types of makeup, assorted lashes, and a variety of hair irons. Her lip gloss was always poppin’! A lover of fashion and trends, she took great pride in her creative looks. Keyamonie’s love for life extended to many things... especially seafood boils, which she considered a favorite pastime. Whether it was the joy of cracking open crab legs, or making avocadoes with hot sauce and a boiled egg, her excitement for a good meal was unmatched. When she wasn’t indulging in her favorite foods, she could be found dancing, creating fun TikTok videos, where she expressed herself freely and shared her energy with the world. Some of her go-to phrases included, “ya’ll doin’ too much,” “on my soul,” and “we gon’ be good!” Whether with family, friends, or her little girl, Keyamonie lived with a sense of elation that will never be forgotten. She is surely going to be missed by those whose paths she has crossed. As she would often say, “it’s not bye, it’s see you later!” Keyamonie leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, her loving mother, Kimneshia Jackson (with special friend, Oscar); daughter, Ka’lani Reed; sisters, Reginae, and Sa’breya; paternal grandmother, Wilhemina “Miss Pookie” Davis; grandfather, Gregory Lee; and a great multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many beloved friends. We miss her already. Keyamonie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Cheryl Jackson; great-grandmother, Sharon Jackson; paternal great-grandmother, Betty Davis; paternal great-great-grandmother, Edwina Jackson; aunt, Barbara Washington; and godfather, Todd "Tizzy" Rodgers. Visitation which will commence on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Believer’s Miracle Deliverance Ministries, Inc., 207 Eagle St. Keyamonie’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 p.m. at the church.
