Kevin J. Fenton

Mr. Kevin J. Fenton, age 55, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Utica on June 26, 1951, Kevin was the son of the late Cletus J. Jr. and Lois (Peterson) Fenton. He was raised in Deerfield and educated in Whitesboro Schools. At one time, he was married to the former Paula Schuff. The loving relationship shared with their children has been the common bond for each of them throughout their lives. Mr. Fenton worked as a dispatcher at Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., retiring in 1999 after 29 years of loyal service. In his spare time, Kevin enjoyed ‘tinkering’ with automobiles and was an avid auto enthusiast. He also took great pleasure in spending time with his beloved grandchildren, supporting them with pride at their many athletic events. Among family and friends, Kevin was known as a man of great humor and an experienced prankster. His adventurous and bold outlook on life filled all those around him with joy. Above all, he will be remembered as a good father, a loving grandfather, and a loyal friend. Kevin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Sheila (Lennon) Fenton of New Hartford; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Raymond Judway who cared for him during his last months at their home in Sauquoit; Kyle Waldo of Frankfort, who was considered like a son; and his grandchildren, Alec Fenton and Kelsey Fenton, Alison Judway and Megan Judway, and soon-to-arrive, Katherine Judway. His survivors also include his brother and sister-in-law, Michael Sr. and Binnie Fenton, of Deerfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Thomas Small of Deerfield, and Sheila and Joseph Archambeault of Schenectady; nieces and nephews, Tammie, Michael Jr., Christopher, Traci, Becky, and John; numerous cousins; and many friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his niece, Kara Engell in June of 1999, and his brother-in-law, Dan Fowler, Jr. The family would like to extend special thanks to the hospital staff at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Ctr., the Presbyterian Home for CNY, Inc., and all those who helped and comforted Kevin and his family. Visitation will be held on Thursday (today) from 4-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. For those wishing to do so, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kevin to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of the donor’s choice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Kevin’s funeral will commence on Friday morning at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at Historic Old. St. John’s Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
