Mr. Kenny Randolph Newkirk

UTICA – Mr. Kenny Randolph Newkirk went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 64. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing. Born in Manhattan, NY, on August 3, 1961, Kenny was the son of the late Herman Newkirk and Eva Blackwell. He was raised and educated in Manhattan. In his earlier years, Kenny worked as a D.J. in the city. Seeking a change in his life, he relocated to the Utica area in the late 1980s, where he made his home ever since. At one time he held a position in the kitchen at Denny’s. Kenny also became a familiar face to many as a bouncer at various local bars and clubs. He never failed to greet patrons with a smile, leaving a lasting impression on those he met. Shortly after establishing himself in Utica, Kenny was united in marriage with Minerva Vazquez in 1991. The couple shared a loving and devoted union. Kenny deeply loved his “sons” and was unwavering in his dedication to caring for them and filling their lives with love, despite any challenges they faced. Kind and patient, he consistently put the needs of his family before his own. A family man at heart, Kenny loved visiting with relatives and hosting family gatherings—those were his most cherished moments. He also enjoyed sports and was happiest whenever a game was on. He was especially passionate when cheering for the New York Knicks. Kenny is survived by his devoted wife, Minerva; and sons, Marcelino Vazquez, Jr., and Richard Vazquez. He treasured the memory of his son, Leonardo Vazquez, who passed away on October 26, 2024. He is further survived by his sisters and their loves, Linda and Carl Ringo, Tammy Benson, Renee Neadle, and Patricia Blackwell and Lamont Richardson; brother, Kirk Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and many in-laws. He was additionally predeceased by his brother, Lee.
