Kathleen S. "Kathie" Rondenelli

Kathleen S. “Kathie” Rondenelli, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 19, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on June 8, 1949, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Marlene (Hopkins) Rondenelli. She was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy/Class of 1967. She continued her education at M.V.C.C. with a concentration in Nursing. At one time, Kathie was employed by Chicago Market, later known as Great American, for over 24 years in varied positions. She was known for her very hard work ethic and she made lasting friendships that remained in her heart. She lastly worked at the Oneida/Herkimer Solid Waste Authority for 23 years, recently retiring on July 1, 2014. In Kathie’s life, family always came first. She loved both her nephews but was especially fond of her beloved niece Cristina, with whom she spent many hours. Kathie loved to keep busy and she spent much of her time at her brother’s house where she enjoyed puttering around and doing things for his family. She loved the holidays and spent many hours assisting and bonding with her sister-in-law Cheryl as they expressed their mutual joy for decorating. She was a giving soul, generous in so many ways and blessed with the best traits of both parents. She was ready for anyone who needed a hand, including relatives and neighbors, and she was affectionately known as “Miss Kathie” because of her dedication and concern. Kathie enjoyed taking daily walks and attending art shows and exhibits at Munson Williams. She recently became a member of MWPAI. Kathie was blessed with the gift of a great sense of humor which she displayed to her very last day. The virtues of a positive attitude and her selflessness guided her life, allowing her to be remembered as a positive person with a unique energy. She was of the Catholic faith and prayed privately to her Lord. Kathie is survived by her siblings and their loves: Vincent G. Rondenelli, Michael K. and Cheryl Rondenelli, who was like a sister to Kathie, all of Westmoreland, and Darlene and David Radder of Baldwinsville. She also leaves her niece and nephews, Michael “Mikey” V. Rondenelli, Cristina M. Rondenelli; and Bradford Doubleday; as well as numerous cousins. She was also blessed with many good friends throughout her life, including Miles Dibble with whom she held a special bond. She was predeceased by her baby brother, Russell Rondenelli; and numerous aunts and uncles of the Hopkins and Rondenelli families. The family extends their sincere thanks to Mike and Kate Cominsky for their caring hearts and the assistance they provided Kathie; and the personnel of the St. Luke’s Home for the loving care rendered to Kathie during her brief stay. In keeping with Kathie’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Kathie would have appreciated supporting the good work of this organization. Interment will take place privately in Calvary Cemetery.
