Kathleen M. (Minuti) Manfredo

Kathleen M. (Minuti) Manfredo, 74, of Clarence, New York passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 26, 2013. She went home to Heaven with the love and support of her daughter, Joanne by her side. Kathy was born on March 26, 1939 to Nicholas and Jennie (Barnaba) Minuti. A 1956 Utica Free Academy graduate, and attended every class reunion, including the 50th in 2006. . She retired in 2001 after 28 years from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utica-Watertown where her kindness and wanting to help others made her the perfect customer service representative. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Joanne, with whom she shared a home; her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Teddi Minuti, New Hartford. Inurnment will take place on Thursday, September 12th at 1pm in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery, she will be placed with her father. A small prayer service will be given by Rev. Felix R. Colosimo of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, where she was a former communicant. Family and friends are invited to attend. . My mom was a beautiful, loving and caring person who always thought of others. She was a practicing Catholic and recited the rosary daily. , Even with health setbacks the last few years, she always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed watching Phil and Tiger, cheering on the Yankees and one of her favorites-Joe Bonamassa in concert on DVR. I will always remember her love of sweaters with sparkle, having her hair, nails and makeup perfect and wearing Jovan musk perfume. She was always complimented on her beautiful complexion. She loved to dance and missed that the most the past 3 years with needing a walker. So many wonderful memories; but will always remember summer vacations together with my grandparents to NYC, Lake George and Saratoga Springs; and before she moved to Buffalo, her visits on Mother’s Day and Christmas where she enjoyed going to the casino. Mom felt her best the last 5 months and enjoyed going to our resident center. I’m happy that she got to meet new people and make new friends. She enjoyed spending time talking and laughing with everyone, especially Donna and Shirley. To her best friend since age 9, Cyndi Pangburn (Florida) and her wonderful BCBS friends: Judy Hajec, Joanie Evans, Jeanine Merriman, Suzanne Hoyt, Jeff Flood, Mary Ann Astour and many others, she enjoyed your phone calls and loved all of you very much. To the special man she had in her life for over 20 years in Utica - she never forgot you. . Thank you to everyone at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital (2nd flr. N) for their care, compassion and respect of my mom those last 2 days; and for their guidance with the most difficult decision that I had to make in honoring her wishes. Special thank you to her doctors: Dr. Michael D’Angelo and Betty Jo McAuliffe; Dr. George Kalonaros and Beth Tacca; and especially Dr. Eric Koch, who my mom trusted completely. You two had a special bond. There are no words to express how grateful I am for the care you gave her over the years. Mom: You will always be my best friend. I never thought of taking care of you as a burden. I know we’ll be together again and I’ll see that beautiful smile. There have been many difficult days; but knowing that you are watching over me gets me through it. I couldn’t have asked for a better mom and hope that I was a good daughter. I Love You.
