Mr. Kaeron Mykel "Bishop" "Bubba" Henderson

UTICA – Mr. Kaeron Mykel “Bishop” “Bubba” Henderson, age 24, unexpectedly went home to the Lord as a victim of gun violence on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Born in Gloversville, NY on April 17, 1998, Kaeron was such a blessing to his mother, Melissa Henderson, and he also knew the fatherly love of Christian Paterson, and Issac McCovery. Kaeron started his employment at the House of the Good Shepherd Organization. He took to heart their mission to foster strong family ties, and he strove to provide meaningful help and assistance to families and children. He then moved on to become a Resident Counselor with Upstate Cerebral Palsy on Armory Dr., a position he held for two and a half years and was immensely proud of. Kaeron shared in a relationship with Kayla Greene and from that union came the blessing of their two beautiful daughters. He also dearly loved his only son, Romell Cooper, who was born to him of Nyasia Cooper. A man with good taste and a green thumb, Kaeron loved to cook and work in the garden. As an adult, he discovered his love for art, so much so that he aspired to one day open his own tattoo parlor. Kaeron was known for his kind heart, always willing to help others, no matter who they may be. But his dedication and commitment to his children was his top priority. He carried that protective spirit over to his siblings, acting as their “keeper” and would sometimes discipline them as if he was “Dad”. Kaeron was both outspoken, but showed a deep humility in his ways. He never failed to brighten any room upon entering it. Kaeron wore his heart on his sleeve and never met a monster he couldn’t love. His joy came from helping others and that led him to his career working at UCP and the House of the Good Shepherd. Kaeron is survived by his loving mother, Melissa; and his step-fathers, Christian, and Issac. He found peace with his love, Kayla Greene, and the blessing of their two daughters, Kae’rilah, and A’Rayah Henderson. His loss will also be felt by his only son, Romell Cooper, and his mother Nyasia Cooper; and Kaeron’s step-son, M’asiyah James. Kaeron also leaves behind his siblings, Timania, Tyneisha, Elliott, Timar, Elianna, Jazaria, Laquea, and Jazaiah; step-siblings, Jaquetta, Christian, Jr., and Shirena; his favorite cousins, Jahtavious, Jamarious, and Wyatt Holmes (Cousin Ducky); his aunts and uncles, Jennifer, Mary, Wyzetta, Amber, Ebony, Patricia, Tee, Andrew, and Cruz; his grandmother, Mary L. Jackson; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. At such a young age, he leaves behind a host of friends as well. He was preceded by his maternal grandfather, Wyatt Holmes; great-grandmother, Lilly Mae Holmes; grandfather, Andrew Jackson; and his cousin, Dale Holmes. The family would like to express their gratitude to Tiffany Boykin; and to Kaeron’s work family at the House of the Good Shepherd for their care and support. Kaeron’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Peter Spencer U.A.M.E. Church, 841 Bleecker St., Utica. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
