Julie Ann (Soja) Borgia

NY MILLS/SAUQUOIT - It is with great sadness that the family of Julie Ann (Soja) Borgia announces her passing unexpectedly in her sleep. She left this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in the comfort of her home. She was 48 years old. Born in New Hartford on October 24, 1970, Julie was the beloved daughter of Andrea (Bulat) Soja and the late John F. Soja. She was a graduate of New York Mills High School/Class of 1988. At one time she was married to Joseph A. Borgia, Jr. and to that marriage came the blessing of her daughter, Gabrielle. Time passes, and people fall in love again. When Julie met Jay Pyle, they were attracted to each other like magnets and they fell in love. Jay’s playful banter and ability to make Julie laugh led to their unbreakable bond, and on April 29, 2015 they pledged their love and became engaged. Julie was employed as a CNA providing Home Health Care services, and her sensitive heart, compassion, and attention to others’ needs made her a natural in her career. Blessed with outward beauty and inner grace, Julie had an outgoing personality, and was social, spontaneous, and smooth in conversation. She was funny and laughed at her own jokes. She was a social butterfly and always on the go with boundless energy. As a late-night girl, she watched tv, especially reality shows and her nightly line up including Friends, Mom, and King of Queens. She was a golf enthusiast and enjoyed watching the Masters Tournament, rooting for Rory McIlroy to win. She also followed football with Jay, favoring the Jets, despite not knowing the rules of the game. Julie and her German shepherd “Dee Dee” were inseparable great buddies. She practiced her Catholic faith at her home parish of Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s Church in NY Mills. But above all else, Julie loved her daughter Gabrielle and was most proud of their special relationship and the cherished memories her daughter will forever hold dear. Julie is survived by the love of her life, Jay; her daughter, Gabrielle Borgia; her mother, Andrea; and her sister, Tricia Ryan. She also leaves her niece and godchild, Jillian Ryan; aunt, Josephine Soja; cousin, Michael Davlau; and her longtime friends with special mention of Larry Larabee, John Nastovich, and Robbie Boucher. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Catherine Bulat; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Frances Soja; and her aunt, Cynthia Davlau. The family is grateful to the attendants from Edwards Ambulance for their compassion and respect exhibited in caring for Julie as well as the other agencies who responded. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Julie’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at Sacred Heart & St. Mary's Church where her Mass of Christian Burial with committal prayers will be offered. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
