Joyce E. (LaPointe) Robertello

Mrs. Joyce E. (LaPointe) Robertello, age 78, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Born in Utica on September 18, 1935, Joyce was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Kozien) LaPointe. Raised and educated locally, she furthered her studies at the Utica School of Commerce. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1957 she married Dominick R. Robertello with whom she shared 56 years; they loved one another and their hearts were one. Joyce retired from her career work at the Social Security Administration. More recently, she enjoyed her position at Rite Aid Pharmacy and her job with the Board of Elections. Joyce excelled and rejoiced in her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. During her leisure time, she pursued golf, gardening, cooking, baking, family vacations, and visits to the casino. At one time, she was a member of the Eagle Hills Golf Club.A very religious and spiritual woman, Joyce held her Catholic faith sacred and was communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Joyce is survived by her husband, Dominick; her daughter and son-in-law, Donna M. and Tom Ryan of Schuyler; her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard D. and Elizabeth Robertello of Malta, NY, and David M. and Donnamarie Robertello of Liverpool, NY; and her grandchildren, Marcus Ryan, Michael Ryan, Christopher Robertello, Lauren Robertello, David Robertello, Aaron Robertello, and Arianna Robertello. She also leaves her sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Ken Ferris of Camden; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws Joyce Robertello, and William J. and Patricia Robertello, and many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard LaPointe; her great-niece, Nicole Robertello; and her brother-in-law, Frank J. Robertello. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Joyce’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday morning at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Felix Colosimo. A graveside Committal service will take place in Calvary Cemetery with interment to follow.
