Josephine M. "Josie" (Reile) Lisandrelli

Mrs. Josephine M. (Reile) Lisandrelli, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Frankfort, NY Josephine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Ciance) Reile. She was raised and educated in Frankfort. On June 1, 1946 she married Rocco A. Lisandrelli who passed away on July 10, 1989. Two people in love, they were blessed in their 43-year commitment to each other; Josie honored Rocco’s memory to the moment she passed. During her working years Josie was employed by several local companies, lastly working at the Masonic Home, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed life with a sense of independence and she had a unique style of humor and delivery. Dedicated to home and family, she was a wonderful woman who provided for her children with such affection and love. During her spare time, she found pleasure in sewing, gardening, and entertaining family and friends. Always thoughtful of others, Josie remembered loved ones in her prayers. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Josephine is survived by her sons and their families, Anthony R. and Lenora Lisandrelli of Frankfort, and Paul Lisandrelli and Beata Raczynska of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Anthony and Jennifer Lisandrelli, James Lisandrelli, Jo-Anne and Rocco Zammiello, Jr.; Amy Lisandrelli Noye and her husband Christopher, Rocco Lisandrelli II, and their mother, Deborah Lisandrelli; and her great-grandchildren, Alex; Taylor Anne, and Cameron Pearl. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Evelyn Reile, Celia Reile, and Marie Lisandrelli. She was also blessed with several dear and loyal friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Ellyn T. Reile; and her brother, Guy Reile. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center for their kindness and compassion which was so appreciated. In keeping with Josephine’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Josephine’s honor to St. Anthony of Padua Church; envelopes will be available at the service.
