Mrs. Josephine Pisano

Mrs. Josephine Pisano, age 90, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica on April 18, 1922, Josephine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Durante) Pape. She was also blessed with the love and guidance of her stepfather, the late Joe Pandolfo. She was raised and educated locally. On July 25, 1948, she married John L. Pisano. The couple shared 41 blessed years together until his passing on October 15, 1989. At one time, Mrs. Pisano held a position as a children’s aide at the St. Joseph’s Home for children. Most recently, she was employed by the Newbury Manufacturing Co. in Syracuse. Josephine meant everything to her boys who took care of her just as she took care of them, she was their angel; a special, beautiful person; it breaks their hearts to see her go. Josephine was a good-hearted and upbeat woman, who also possessed a terrific sense of humor. She maintained a positive outlook on life, and it was her strength and perseverance that upheld her while facing adversities. She was a communicant of the old St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mrs. Pisano is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, John F. and Elizabeth C. Pisano, and Louis J. Pisano, all of Utica, and Lawrence H. and Christine Pisano, of North Utica; her grandchildren, Sarah, Nicholas, Lawrence, Jr., Katelyn, Jeannette, Michael, and John, Jr. Also surviving is one sister, Kathleen “Kay” Luciano of FL; and many extended family members especially acknowledging Dick Angelillo, and Joe Gadicola. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Pape, and members of the Pisano family. Josephine’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, especially the members of the 5th floor, CCU and Respiratory Therapy Units. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Josephine’s committal service at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel which will be held on Saturday morning at 10:30. By family request please omit floral offerings.
