Josephine (Multari) Lamberto

Mrs. Josephine (Multari) Lamberto, age 84, of New Hartford, went home to be with the Lord and joined her beloved husband, Vinny, on Saturday, June 20, 2009. At the time of her passing, she was comforted by the love and support of her family. Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 1, 1925, Josephine was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ada (Fragomemi) Multari. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, where she was married to Dr. Vincent S. Lamberto on June 28, 1947. They were truly devoted to each other and dedicated to family life during their 48 years of marriage until his passing on April 2, 1995. As a wife, mother, and wonderful grandmother, Josephine upheld exemplary standards that provided her family with much love and guidance. She adored her grandchildren and followed their activities with great enthusiasm. She was admired for always possessing a positive and accepting nature, and she was a great entertainer, from Sunday dinner to holiday celebrations. With a zest for life, she was passionate about music, dancing, and her self-taught virtuosity on the piano. Her friendships were held dear to her and many will remember her for this wonderful trait. She believed that life was a blessing and her personal spirituality was her guiding light. She took part in prayer groups several years ago, and was a parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Josephine is survived by her children and their families, Joseph R. and Charlotte Lamberto of Whitesboro, Lucille Lamberto and her husband Michael Egan of NC, Vincent and Susan Lamberto, and Dr. Ralph and Amy Lamberto, all of New Hartford; and her grandchildren, Marisa Lamberto, Josia Lamberto-Egan, Laffite Lamberto-Egan, Justin Lamberto, Oceana Lamberto-Egan, Ian Lamberto, Seawind Lamberto-Egan, Bryce Lamberto, Skyla Lamberto-Egan, and Giada Lamberto. Survivors also include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Nicholas Multari of MN, Ralph and Joanna Multari of FL, Rosalie Multari of Brooklyn, NY, and Nina (D’Inolfo) Multari of FL; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Josephine was grateful for the enduring friendships of Marcella Guerriero and MaryLou Alexander. She was also blessed with the treasured lifelong friendship of Annie and Ed Martin of Las Vegas. She was predeceased by her brothers, Sylvio Multari, and Joseph Multari; and her sister-in-law, Mary Multari. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Josephine’s honor to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Josephine's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday morning at 8:00 from the funeral home and at 9:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery.
