Joseph Francis Rondinelli

Mr. Joseph Francis Rondinelli, age 66, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Herkimer, NY on October 5, 1939, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Principe) Rondinelli. He was raised and educated in Herkimer. With a tenure of 21 years, Joseph served as national accounts manager for the C.A. Reed Co. in Williamsport, PA. He was later employed as a sales manager with the Duni Corporation of WI and as a national sales director with Granger of NY. Joe had a flair for life and loved to make others laugh. He will be keenly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was a source of guidance, support and love to his cherished grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as “Papi”. Among his pastimes, Joe especially loved fishing, and working out at the American Fitness Center. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan. Endowed with a compassion for his fellow man, Joe volunteered at the Hope House and the Lutheran Home for many years. He was a spiritually devotional man and enjoyed worshipping at the Mt. Zion Ministries. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mr. Rondinelli is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Nicole and Dominick Paternoster of Utica, and Regan Rondinelli and her fiance, Jason Haberek of Boston; the mother of their children, Rena Tomaino Rondinelli; cherished grandchildren, Amelia Rose Paternoster, and Grace Ann Paternoster; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Theresa Tangorra of Herkimer, and Marlene and Lester Lemik of Herkimer. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Chad and Julie Tangorra, Brad and Crystal Tangorra, Justin Tangorra, Larissa and Trey Davis, and MacKenzie and Paul Janice; many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Joe also leaves behind his longtime friend, Ray Tantillo. He was predeceased by his baby brother, Jimmy Rondinelli, and his brother-in-law and friend, Richard Tangorra. The family offers its sincere gratitude to Dr. Razia, Dr. Breslow, Dr. Young, and the nurses and staff of 3W of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care Center for the care and attention shown to Joseph and the family. Visitation will be held Friday (today) from 5-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. For those wishing to do so, please consider honoring Joseph’s memory with a contribution to the American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Mr. Rondinelli’s funeral will commence on Saturday morning at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at St. Anthony of Padua Church where his mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
