Mr. Joseph P. "Joey" Dardano

Mr. Joseph P. “Joey” Dardano, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in New Hartford on January 28, 1973, Joseph was the son of Ken and Christina “Tina” (Christiano) Dardano. Raised and educated in Utica, he was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. He furthered his education and received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from the University of Phoenix. Joey was currently employed as a transaction processor at Xerox Educational Services (ACS). But it was his family that was his world, and enjoyed the moments spent, especially with his nieces and nephews. He had a contagious laugh and a loving smile. He was good humored and entertaining, always open to being teased by his loved ones. He looked forward to escorting “Big Nonnie” to Kohl’s on their shopping trips. Joey held a passion for music and loved to compose melodies and tinker with his guitar. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants and professional wrestling. He treasured his family above all else, and he will be greatly missed by all who were dear to him. Joey is survived by his parents, Ken and Tina Dardano; maternal grandmother, Philomena “Fannie” Christiano of Utica; sister, Chrissy Dardano; brothers and sister-in-law, Anthony and Maria Dardano, and Kenny Dardano Jr and Gina Zegarelli; his special companion, Christopher Freeman; nieces, nephews, Anthony Jr., Vincenzo-Gianni; Julianna, and Kaylee Marie Dardano; maternal aunts and uncles, Phyllis M. Christiano, Nicholas “Nick” Arcuri Jr, and Robert Mariano; several great aunts and great uncles; his cousins with whom he shared a special bond, Nick Arcuri III, Kim and John Kleaka, Nicole Latini, John Michael Latini, Paula and Jim Cushman, Bobby and Denise Mariano, and Rick and Joy Mariano; and his close friend, Mike Graf. He was predeceased by his aunts, Marie “MiMi” Arcuri, and Elaine Mariano; maternal grandfather, Joseph F. Christiano; paternal grandfather and grandmother, Joseph and Theresa Dardano; and great-uncle, Angelo Desiato. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Joseph’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home and 10:30 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Kaminski. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
