Mr. Joseph F. "Joe" Arcuri

Mr. Joseph F. “Joe” Arcuri, age 30, of Marcy, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo with his loving family by his side, after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. Joseph was born in Liverpool, NY on March 7, 1982, the son of Joseph F. and Regina (Restive) Arcuri. He was a graduate of Liverpool High School and continued his academic studies at MVCC where he received an Associates degree in Mechanical Technology. He went on to graduate from SUNY Institute of Technology/Class of 2004 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. On September 6, 2008 he married the former Noelle G. Buczek; the couple shared a very supportive and loving union. During his college years Joe worked at the Fountainhead Group where he helped design industrial sprayers. He then held employment with Carolina Motion Controls, NC, and Cutting Edge Custom Components in Syracuse where he worked under master machinist John Hodges. He worked as a design engineer at Magna Powertrain, Inc. in East Syracuse. He was passionate about cars and motorcycles designing vehicle concepts, custom parts and wheels, which led him to his last position of owner/operator of Arcuri Design. With a high mechanical aptitude, Joe was able to design and generate his own parts from someone’s ideas. He had a special interest in hot rods and wheels. But more than anything, Joe loved his entire family and all his friends, and he loved to be together with them. He cherished his wife and his beautiful son, Joey, who were the loves of his life. He enjoyed the time spent with Joey on their father-son outings, and times spent with family at their summer house at Sylvan Beach. He looked forward to his yearly pursuit of harvesting maple syrup with his best friend, Michael Scalise. He also enjoyed gardening and landscaping, and as a young man he pursued the sport of hunting. As an antiques aficionado, he collected and restored his treasures to their former beauty. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Syracuse Orange Basketball, a member of the Oneida County Historical Society, and a parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Noelle; his son, Joseph “Joey” Arcuri V who he adored; and his parents, Joseph F. III and Regina Arcuri of Liverpool. Also left to mourn his untimely passing are his brother, Brandon V. Arcuri of Liverpool; his grandmother, Rosaria (Spano) Restive of Utica; his mother-in-law, Denise Buczek of Utica; his aunts and uncles including Frank and Wanda Arcuri, Richard and Renee Arcuri, Mario and Linda Restivewith whom he shared a special closeness, Vincent and Joan Restive;his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Melissa and Sergio Vallejo and their children Sergio, Antonio, and Santino, his godson; his wife Noelle’s aunts and uncles; and cousins. Joe was also blessed with true friends, Mike and Tracy Scalise who have been with Joe and Noelle throughout the years offering their love and support. A special thanks to Tara Redmond who was also available in Joe’s final days to assist the family. The family extends sincere thanks to Dave and Jill Tucci, Ralph and Dale Stoppiello, Mike and Tracy Scalise, Larisa Black, Grant and Lisa Roser, Debbie and Bill Loomis, Armando and Lisa Yacco, and Tara Redmond; and the many other family and friends who contributed to the Benefit Event in Joe’s honor. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.Joe's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Anthony P. LaFache. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
