Mr. John F. Kennedy

Mr. John F. Kennedy, age 51, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center after a courageous battle with cancer. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by his devoted family and friends. Born in Utica on June 27, 1964, John was the son of George “Marty” Kennedy and the late Nancy G. (Hankinson) Kennedy. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. Seventeen years ago John stole the heart of his true love, the former Robin M. King, and on July 21, 2014, he put a ring on her finger. Their marriage was beautiful and blessed with happy memories. Most recently, John was employed in the Shipping & Receiving Department at the Hannaford Brothers Grocery Store in Washington Mills. John maintained a strong relationship with his family throughout his life. He cared about the people he loved and, in turn, he was well loved and respected by many. He made time for his friends and he knew how to repay a kindness. John was a highly skilled bowler and was so proud of his three 800 series and numerous 300 games. He was a die-hard fan of the Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Orioles, and Philadelphia Flyers. John is survived by his wife, Robin; his father, George “Marty”; and he was also blessed with the love of his step-children, Glenn Brown and Lindsay Meislin of New Hartford, and Ryan Dodson at home; and his cherished step-granddaughter, Maya Brown who was the apple of his eye. He will also be missed by his sister and brother-in-law, Gina M. and Dale H. Kerr of Utica; his aunts and uncles, Jack and Devina Giambrone, Angelo J. Giacovelli, Kathleen and Thomas Bifarella, Jack and Susan Kennedy, and Patty Kennedy; nieces and nephews, especially acknowledging his nephew and godson Nicholas Joseph Kerr, and his niece Kayla Rose Kerr; great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, especially acknowledging Angelo Giacovelli; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Butch and Jackie King; in-laws Tony and Ann King, Angie Soja and Dr. Dan Murphy, Mike and Katy King, and Lori and Benny Morosco; and his friends, Leslie McDougal, Grace Pruitt, John Lazzaro, and Frank Leonard and family. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Caroline Kennedy; maternal grandparents, Peter and Margaret Hankinson; uncle, Joseph Kennedy; and aunts, Georgianna Giacovelli, and MaryAnn Kennedy. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00-5:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. John’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday morning at 11:30 from the funeral home and at 12:30 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Kaminski. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
