Mr. John Joseph Amodio

CLINTON – Mr. John Joseph Amodio, age 55, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, in the comfort and dignity of his home. At the time of his crossing over, he was surrounded by the love of his father, caretakers, and in the hearts of his family who loved him. John was born in New Hartford, on July 6, 1967, to John P. Amodio and the late Mary Ellen Renzi. John also knew the love of his stepmother, Deborah L. Amodio, who was an additional blessing and caretaker when needed. John Joseph was fortunate to have the guidance of wonderful teachers at Christopher Columbus Elementary School. John was a fun loving and active young child and through life’s experiences it was detected that he would need expertise care. He had a joyful personality and yet able to express times of displeasure, but one to rarely complain. The world seemed so big to John, yet it was the simple joys of going for a ride and stopping for cheeseburgers at his beloved McDonald’s; often being comical by reversing the buns to make it his own unique sandwich. John delighted in fishing at Delta Lake and loved trips to the zoo, attending local carnivals, and going to the movies. He was overjoyed with treats from Dunkin Donuts. John was captivated when watching cartoons, especially Spiderman and SpongeBob. He enthusiastically enjoyed football and rooting for the Washington Redskins, now the Washington Commanders, and boy was he gifted with collectibles and memorabilia from his favorite team. When it came to music, he responded to listening to the sounds of the 70s and he knew when the strains of “The Boss”, Bruce Springsteen were in the air. John Joseph was baptized Catholic, and the Lord was in his heart. John Joseph is survived and will live on in the hearts of his father John, and his stepmom Deborah; as well as his siblings and their spouses, Angela Marie Amodio, Joseph and Melissa Amodio, Joshua and Keri Amodio, and Charles III and Jennifer Ellixson. He will also live on in the hearts of his stepsiblings and their spouses, Jessica and Peter Hashim; Matthew and Gina Ptak, (and their late son, Maximus); and Jennifer Crescenzo. John will be fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles, including Leonard and Georgina Amodio, and Marie Amodio. He leaves behind his nieces, nephews, and many special cousins. John was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Angelo and Celestine Amodio; his maternal grandparents, John Joseph and Ann Renzi; his uncle, Mike Amodio, and his aunt and uncle, Martha and Wess Nelson. His dad John and his family are very grateful to the staffs at Marcy Dayhab, Hillcrest IRA, and Homestead IRA. It was their care and compassion throughout the years that made John Joseph a thriving soul. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. John's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in John's honor may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. online at https://hospicecareinc.org/donate-online; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
