Jerry D. ("Jr" "JB") Bruno

Mr. Jerry D. (“Jr” “JB”) Bruno passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with his loving and devoted wife by his side. Born in Utica, Jerry was the son of the late Jerry and Anna (Piperata) Bruno. Raised and educated locally, he attended T.R. Proctor High School. He continued his education at MVCC where he received a Mechanical Engineering Degree and later attended the Utica School of Commerce where he earned a degree in Accounting. On June 10, 1967 he wed Maria A. “Marie” Cuchiarale; God blessed their nuptial vows and they shared 45 years in a happy and fulfilling marriage. Jerry worked as a draftsman at UNIVAC for 17 years and later held employment at Empire Circuit, Par Tech, and the Medical Economics Bureau, the position from which he retired. Jerry was a gentle, quiet man, and his home was his castle. He cherished get-togethers with his family and friends. He held great joy during the time spent with his dear nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He enjoyed celebrating the holidays, particularly Christmastime when he displayed his Dickens Village. He loved the NY Yankees, the casino, and traveling. He had an affinity for animals which included fish, dogs, and the many beautiful birds in the backyard. Jerry practiced his Catholic faith at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Jerry is survived by his wife, Marie; his sisters, Frances Nicolette of N. Utica, and Diane R. Grumboski of SC; his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, godchildren, and in-laws Carol Sanguine, Anthony N. Cuchiarale and Karen Force, Donald R. Paciello, Tina Cuchiarale; and his many dear and cherished friends and their children, especially lifelong friends, Patty Dennison and her children; Jennifer and Wade Karam, and Joseph and Beth Dennison. He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Paciello; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Henry and Mary Cuchiarale; and his brothers-in-law Sal Nicolette, and Richard V. Grumboski. The family expresses their gratitude to the personnel of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Dialysis Unit, the physicians and staff at the Mohawk Valley Nephrology Associates; Dr. Bhisham Garg, Dr. Domenic Aiello, and Dr. Margarita Perez-Cheron for their professional care and compassion. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request please omit floral offerings. Mr. Bruno’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Kaminski. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
