Mrs. Jennie R. (Renno) Belmont

Mrs. Jennie R. (Renno) Belmont, age 91, a native Utican and of Holland Patent, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Charles T. Sitrin Healthcare Center with the support of her devoted and loving family by her side. Born on October 8, 1920, Jennie was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Abruzzi) Renno. Raised and educated locally, Jennie attended Utica Free Academy and the Utica School of Commerce. On October 14, 1950 she married Alfred P. Belmont with whom she shared a blessed union of 61 years. Her work began with employment as a bookkeeper with Mohawk Valley Oil Company. Subsequently, she joined her husband in several of their business ventures, that being Belmont’s Nursery & Landscaping Corporation where she was Vice-President. A dutiful partner in life and commitments, she assisted Al in the day to day operation of the legendary Alfie’s Restaurant. Upon retirement, she once again shared her bookkeeping skills with Grippe’s Hairstyling. She was a communicant of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church and at one time a member of the parishes Altar Rosary Society. Jennie is survived by her husband, Alfred; her devoted daughter & son-in-law with whom she resided, Nicolette M. “Nikki” Fraccola & Anthony M. Fraccola with whom she shared a special bond and loved like a son; and her cherished granddaughter who was the apple of her eye, Nicole M. Fraccola. She also leaves many nieces and nephews especially acknowledging, Patricia “Patty” Dennison who was exceptionally wonderful to her aunt; great nieces and great nephews especially Joe Dennison who held a special place in her heart and his wife, Beth Docteur; and Jennifer Karam who was her “little sunshine” and her husband Wade Karam, and her cousins, John V. & Marie Lucarelli who frequently visited and offered their love and support, and Esther Ann and Al Mazzei. She was also blessed with her dear friends, Donna Grippe Kratzenberg and her husband, Don, Ondrea and Steve Getz, and Dominick Pacific. She was predeceased by her nephew; Earl Harold Dennison; and her dear friend, Purfilia “Pat” Pacific. The family wishes to thank her physician, Dr. William Ryan, and the staff of the Aspen House of the Charles T. Sitrin Healthcare Center for truly going above and beyond in caring for Jennie; each of them treated her as if she was their own mother. The family gathered privately to celebrate Jennie’s life. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service and Celebration of Life which will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Anthony P. LaFache. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Jennie’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; envelopes will be available at the service. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. “Throughout her life, Jennie always found the good in others, an endearing quality that was admired and will always be remembered.”
