Mrs. Jane A. (Moriarty) Quinn

Mrs. Jane A. (Moriarty) Quinn, age 82, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Charles T. Sitrin Magnolia House with her loving family by her bedside. Born in Long Island, NY on March 27, 1931, Jane was the daughter of the late John and Madeline (Sullivan) Moriarty. She was raised and educated in Long Island, graduating from St. Christopher’s School. On April 5, 1955 she married her childhood sweetheart, Martin J. Quinn, with whom she shared 45 years prior to his passing on May 9, 2000; they were blessed with a beautiful love for each other. A loyal and true couple, Jane was adored by her husband and she was dedicated and steadfast to him in all of their life’s endeavors. Jane lived up to her life’s work as matriarch and homemaker for her family. She personified the true definition of “Mom” and was a doting grandmother who enjoyed sharing time and activities with her grandchildren. With her silliness and quick sense of humor she was the best grandmother and playmate a child could ask for. Her family was everything to her. Jane played the piano and held an appreciation for music. Her leisure pursuits included reading and solving crossword puzzles. She was a classy woman graced by elegance and simple beauty and her presence will be dearly missed by those she held closest. Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine A. and Kenneth F. Netto of Watertown; her sons and daughters-in-law, Martin J. and Elizabeth M. Quinn of West Winfield, and Stephen T. and Deborah K. Quinn, and Michael P. Sr. and Katharine K. Quinn, all of Frankfort; and her grandchildren, Shelby Quinn, Nicholas Netto, Christopher Netto, and Michael Quinn, Jr. She also leaves behind her sister, Mary Duffy of Massapequa, NY; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and in-laws, Mary and Leo McGinity of Long Island, and John Quinn of AZ. She held a special bond with her canine companion, Jake, who now resides with her grandsons in Watertown. She was predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-law, Joan and Frank Murphy, and Geraldine Moriarty; and several in-laws. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the entire staff of the Magnolia House at the Charles T. Sitrin Healthcare Center for the kindness and compassion shown to Jane and her family. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00-12:00 noon at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to either the Stevens-Swan Humane Society or the Frankfort Center Fire Department; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Jane’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday afternoon at 12:00 from the funeral home and at 1:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Arthur Hapanowicz. Interment will follow graveside in Calvary Cemetery, where Jane will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
