Jaime T. Sandoval

Mr. Jaime T. Sandoval, age 46, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 27, 2012, in the comfort and dignity of his home. Born in Los Angeles, California on June 13, 1966, Jaime was the son of Martha (Montero) Perez Sandoval Raised and educated in North Hollywood, CA, he later attended Andover College in Maine where he received a Degree as a Medical Assistant. In the summer of 1995 he met his longtime companion, Mark Petrochuk, and together they began their life journey. Jaime worked at the Utica City School District as a Teacher's Assistant. He later held a position at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center where he was in charge of the Emergency Room Registration Desk. Lastly, he was employed at the Slocum-Dickson Medical Group as a Medical Assistant. Jaime was a fun-loving, sincere, and gentle soul who was able to lift anyone's spirit. He was outgoing, kindhearted, and adventurous. A true animal lover, he was affectionately known to his loved ones as "Dr. Doolittle". He was diverse in his musical preferences and enjoyed dancing, camping, and gardening. He loved to draw and paint, and inspired his niece to pursue her dream in graphic arts. Jaime always sought to bring out the best in everyone. Jaime also enjoyed cooking a great deal. He would make mole so hot he wouldn't eat it,and I would ask for more.He would make guacamole and salsa that "disappeared" as soon as it was put out. Everyone will remember "Jaime's Famous Macaroni Salad". He put love and a great deal of pride in everything he did. Jaime is survived by his devoted companion, Mark; his son, Jesse James Perez of HI; his daughter Vanessa Kristina Perez of CA; and his grandson Christian. His extended family includes his sisters, Virginia "Vicki" Perez, Olivia Torres; brothers Robert Perez, Roger Perez, Alfredo Perez, Johnny Sandoval, and Jesse Sandoval; many nieces, nephews, especially Joanna Olerio and Ashley Holmes, as well as Noah Perez, cousins, and many dear and special friends, a testament to Jaime's trustworthy life. He was predeceased by his brothers, Andres (Shorty) Perez, and Sergio Sandoval. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:30-2:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Jaime's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Rev. John Udics of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Herkimer officiating the ceremony. There will be a memorial luncheon held at the house immediately after the service.
