Jacqueline M. "Jackie" (Rice) Cosamano

Mrs. Jacqueline M. “Jackie” (Rice) Cosamano, age 56, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in New Hartford on March 7, 1958, Jackie was the daughter of Louis Rice and Joan (Williams) Vine as well as her step father Charles “Jake” Vine. Jackie was a 1976 graduate of Whitesboro High School. On August 12, 1978 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church she married her best friend of several years Frank Cosamano, Jr. with whom she shared almost 36 years of friendship and love. Jackie began her working career at the Anderson-Little Clothing Store at the Riverside Mall and later held a position in customer service at A.C. Moore. Most recently she was employed as the Office Manager at Forest Hill Cemetery. Jackie was a very loving woman who dedicated her life to her family. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Aside from spending time with family, Jackie had a love for the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling and boating as well as having a knack for arts and crafts. Jackie is survived by her beloved husband, Frank; her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jennifer Cosamano, Jason and Rachel Cosamano, and Frank Cosamano III; her grandson, Caleb; her step-grandchildren, Hannah and Jaida Demma; her parents, Louis Rice, and Joan and Jake Vine; in-laws, Rosemary and Wayne Ernst, Lucy and Herb Diabo, Toni and David Gnatek, Anthony and Pamela Cosamano, Santo “Sam” and Sharri Cosamano, and Mary Ann and Ralph Usyk. In addition, she also leaves many special cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles. She also had a number of dear and cherished friends, especially her childhood friend Regina Arcuri. She will also be missed by her loving and devoted canine companion, Tucker whom never left her side. She was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank A. and Rose A. (Sardina) Cosamano. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., especially Ann, for the care and compassion she showed Jackie. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Those wishing to express an act of kindness in lieu of flowers may make a donation to the American Cancer Society – Hope Lodge, which provided Jackie and Frank’s accommodations during her treatments in NYC; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Jackie’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday morning at 10:00 from the funeral home and at 11:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. Committal services and Interment will take place graveside in Calvary Cemetery.
