Isabel Cristina "Libby" Rosado

UTICA – Isabel Cristina “Libby” Rosado, age 75, was reunited with her family who went before her when she passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on July 23, 1949, Isabel was raised by her aunt and uncle, Gloria and Julio Rios. She was truly blessed with their parental love and guidance. Isabel graduated from a Catholic High School in Puerto Rico before moving to Utica with her family. Isabel felt blessed to call Dario A. Mazzanet her husband. The couple was blessed to spend over 30 years together, and their partnership was complemented by their strength and understanding of each other. Taking care of her family was always Isabel’s top priority. At times, she worked two or even three jobs to be sure her loved ones were provided for. She was a woman of remarkable strength, compassion, charity, and generosity. Libby made it her mission to make certain no one ever went hungry, personally seeing to it that everyone she encountered had the basic necessities to get through life. Libby and Dario were always ready for a family picnic or cookout. Their home had an open-door policy and was always filled with friends and loved ones. To have everyone together was always a joyous and heartfelt time. Libby’s children respected her beyond words as she sacrificed so much to ensure they had a better life than her. She loved to cook, dance to music, and always had the Spanish channel playing on the TV. A joyful soul with a beautiful smile, she was known for her selflessness—always putting others before herself. Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she held a deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. As a proud parishioner of Historic Old St. John’s Church, she found great joy in including her family in Mass and church gatherings. Isabel is survived by her beloved, Dario; children and their loves, Wanda and Wilfredo Martinez, Francisco and Madelyn (Torres) Rosado, José Rosado, Ricardo Rosado and Winnie, Nemesis Rosado, Raul and Danniel DeJesus, Aramis DeJesus, Kermina DeJesus, Idanis Mazzanet, Lyvel and Louis Andino, Alba and Jim Peterson, and José and Nayka Acevedo. She cherished the memories of her stepdaughters who preceded her, Dorimar “Doris” Mazzanet (1990), and Marilu “Mari” Mazzanet DeJesus (2022); and her granddaughter, Kadalise Renee “Kady” Brown (2018). She also leaves to mourn her 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; a handful of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families; and many cherished friendships with a special mention of her best friend who she considered a sister, Carmen “Yeya” Correa, who passed away in December of 2024. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Isabel's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 at the funeral home.
