Mrs. Helen Mae (Senoff) Price

UTICA - Mrs. Helen Mae (Senoff) Price, age 96, lived a full life and passed on her own terms, on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Heritage Health Care Center. Born in Utica on September 10, 1922, Helen was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Miller) Senoff. She was a member of the first graduating class of T.R. Proctor High School. In 1944, Helen married Joseph D. Price with whom she shared 50 years prior to his passing on July 12, 1994. They were a couple with common goals for their marriage and guidelines for their children. Helen was employed by the New York State Department of Labor in the Department of Motor Vehicles where she worked as the official NY State Driver’s License “picture taker”. When she retired in 1988, it was time for personal adventures, so she embarked upon traveling overseas and seeing and experiencing all she could in the U.S.A. She drove across the country twice! Her horizons stretched far and wide and brought her to meet many people and places, but never the same location twice. And you could always count on gifts and mementos from her journeys. She was a strong-willed, independent woman blessed with a benevolent nature. As a mom, she supported her children’s dreams and desires in life. As a grandma, she loved her grandkids equally and made a special connection with each of them. They all have wonderful memories of trips, and sleep-overs at grandma’s house with a special mint on top of their pillows. She was always at their activities and school functions, and she was ever so proud! She would relax and unwind while knitting and crocheting and she bestowed her fine handcrafted items to family, friends, and those in need. She was never remiss in sending a card of remembrance for birthdays and special occasions. She was a sports enthusiast and a loyal supporter of the NY Yankees, NY Knicks, and professional men’s and women’s tennis. If you spent time with Helen, you knew that she had a penchant for going out to eat—anytime, anywhere, and the more the better. She saved room for dessert, and the check always went to her! Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary W. and Vivian Price. She held close to her heart the memory of her son Joseph D. Price, Jr., who passed away in 2007. She also leaves her grandchildren, Laurie Price, Susan Price, Joseph D. III and wife Meghan; and Jessica Price-Seelow and husband Jason, and Sarah Price; her great-grandchildren, Kevin C. Moreau Jr., William Graham, Daniel Graham, Jordan Hazeltine, Violet Seelow, Nathaniel Seelow, Spencer Seelow, Lillian Price, Liam Price, and Hudson Price; great-great-grandchild, Ash Moreau; and her sister, Doris Considine. She will also be remembered by her niece, Kathleen Considine; in-laws, Richard Price, and Robert Price; and her loyal and beloved friend, Gloria Mary Infusino. She was predeceased by her sister and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and James Philip, and David Considine. The family is grateful to the staff at the Heritage Health Care Center, especially the 5th Floor where Helen was cared for with compassion and professionalism. In keeping with Helen’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Helen knew that when she completed her journey she would only ask one thing of those who knew and loved her,… please go out to dinner, and toast her memory. Private Inurnment will take place in Crown Hill Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
