Mrs. Harriet C. (Felder) Davis

UTICA- Mrs. Harriet C. (Felder) Davis, age 78, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, in the comfort and dignity of her home, with her loving family by her side. Born in Orangeburg, SC on December 22, 1946, Harriet was the daughter of the late Eddie Clay Felder and Dorothy Lee Felder. She soon relocated with her family to Brooklyn, where she received her education. It was there that she wed William “Billy” Davis. The couple spent many loving years together until his passing in 1988. In 1986, Harriet moved to the Utica area where she has since resided. More than anything else, Harriet was a devoted mother. She happily made many sacrifices to stay home with her children and dedicated her life to the needs of her family. She loved more than anything to be in the company of her loved ones and friends and was always very sociable and outgoing – especially during her much looked forward to bingo nights. She strove to be good and kind to all, and everyone knew her as a loving mama, grandma, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. She became renowned in her family and social circles as an excellent and talented cook. Every single one of her dishes was downright mouthwatering. In keeping with her selfless nature, she was often known to feed strangers Harriet is survived by her daughters, Alice Felder, Shanell Felder, and Sharine Davis Chastine; and son, Timothy Davis. She held close to her heart the memories of her children, Darlene Felder, David Davis, and Daniel E. Davis, Sr., all of whom preceded her. Her loss is also felt by many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She fondly remembered her siblings who preceded her, Elizabeth, Anise, Eddie, and Anthony “Tony” Felder. She is additionally survived by many nieces, especially acknowledging Tammy McBride, and Crystal Wright; nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; sister-in-law, Gloria Willis; and many special friends whom she adored as family. She was additionally predeceased by her niece, Dorothy Ann; and nephew, Harold. The Davis family would like to extend their gratitude to nurse Crystal of Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. for her caring and loving heart, which she extended toward Harriet. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Harriet’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
