Harold C. Kennedy

Mr. Harold C. Kennedy, age 51, of Ilion, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Siegenthaler Center. Born in Utica on April 18, 1960, Harold was the son of the late Leonard and Theresa (Sherman) Kennedy. He was raised and educated locally. On May 3, 1992 he married the former Judy A. Powell who passed away on March 11, 2004. He was also blessed with the love of his fiancée, Angeline Fergone. Harold was skilled in various jobs, holding different positions over the years. He led a humble family life, and was a kid at heart. He loved life and enjoyed its simple pleasures. His days were brightened by the beauty of the outdoors, and his imagination was heightened by the creative capacity of Star Trek, his favorite program. He was a parishioner of Historic Old St. John’s Church. Harold is survived by his son, Harold N. Kennedy of New Hartford. He cherished the memory of his daughters, Rachel Kennedy, and Sara Kennedy who preceded him in death. He will also be mourned by his fiancée, Angeline Fergone of Ilion and her children, John Bersani of Ilion with whom he shared a great friendship, Dominick and Jennifer Bersani of Waterville, Christine and Paul Schultz of Rome, and Eve and John Benier of Herkimer. In addition, he leaves his sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna and Gary Ebare of FL, Cora DeRocco of Utica, Evangeline Slate and Alex Rivera of FL, Crystal Wedgren, and Lillian Mazurowski, both of Utica, and Dawn Harrelson of NC; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Sandra Kennedy of Utica, Howard and Sally Kennedy, and John and Marilyn Kennedy, all of FL; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Francis Mazurowski, and Herman Wedgren; and cousin, Martha Walker. The loving care and compassion offered to Harold by the staff of Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, and the personnel of the Senior Care Health Network will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held Sunday from 11-1 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Harold’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Rev. John Buehler officiating the ceremony.
