Mr. Gary Lynn Wyckoff

BEVERLY HILLS, FL/UTICA – Mr. Gary Lynn Wyckoff, beloved husband and father, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 3, 2023, at his home in Florida. Gary was born in Cortland, NY on November 18, 1942, the son of the late Lynford and Mary Katherine (Adams) Wyckoff. After graduation from Cortland High School, he entered the United States Air Force, serving at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY. Honorably discharged from the Air Force, he later joined the New York Telephone Company and worked in the Utica area for many years before transferring to Advance Systems in Plattsburgh, NY. He later transferred to Southern Bell and serviced the Miami area before transferring to Bell South. He became a member of the Bell South President’s Circle for outstanding service in May 2001 and retired after 30 years of service with Bell South in November 2001. He met his wife, the former Kathleen Sacco, daughter of the late Angelo and Katherine (Michaluk) Sacco, on a blind date. The couple were married at St. Anthony’s Church in April of 1965 and enjoyed a long and happy union for 58 years. An outgoing man, Gary had a larger-than-life personality. Anyone that knows Gary can see him in his unique button-down country westerns shirts… accompanied by his cowboy boots. The family encourages those that are comfortable to do so to wear such attire to his visitation in his honor. He was old school in his country genres but he listened to the new artists with great interest. Gary was a dad who encouraged and supported his children. He was a protective father who wanted his children to be safe and to become the best people they could be. Gary leaves his loving wife, Kit; daughter Barbara and son-in-law Anthony “Tony” Rochetti; son, Jeffrey Wyckoff; his beloved pups who were his true companions, Rosie, and Skippy; and grandson, Jacob Rochetti. He is also survived by his brother John and sister-in-law Judy (Stone) Wyckoff; and a niece, a nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. In keep with the family’s wishes and in lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Gary’s honor may be made to the Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society online at https://www.anitas-sshs.org/donate; envelopes will also be available at the funeral home. Gary’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life with Military Honors conferred will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
