Mr. Frank J. Mazurowski

Mr. Francis J. “Frank” Mazurowski, age 61, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Heritage Health Care Center with the love and support of his family by his side. Born in Utica on July 27, 1950, Francis was the son of the late Edward and Josephine (Bielewicz) Mazurowski. Raised and educated locally, he attended Utica College and the State University of New York where he received several academic degrees. Frank was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. On June 8, 1996 he married the former Lillian (Kennedy) Dover with whom he has shared much love and devotion. At one time, Frank held a position with the Visiting Nurse Association, caring for others with love and compassion, often exceeding his patients’ expectations. His family was important to him, and he loved spending time with them, especially during family vacations. Frank was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, and swimming at Sylvan Beach. He was a communicant of Historic Old St. John’s Church. Frank is survived by his wife, Lillian; and his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael R. Jr. and Heather Dover of Yorkville, and Andrew and Rebecca Dover of N. Utica. In addition, he leaves his sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Gerald Bergbower of Gouverneur, NY, Laurie Mazurowski and Jerry of Utica, Lynne and Fred Pflanz of New Hartford, and Phyllis and James Tarkowski of Gouverneur; his brother, Edward Mazurowski of Albany, with whom he shared a special fraternal relationship; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, with special mention of Carolann Amodio, and aunts and uncles, especially acknowledging Ed and Lorraine Bielewicz; his in-laws, Leonard and Sandra Kennedy, Crystal Wedgren, Howard and Sally Kennedy, Evangeline Slate and Alex Rivera, Harold C. Kennedy, John Kennedy, Anna Ebare, Cora DeRocco, and Dawn Kennedy; and his friend, Francis Falk. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Mazurowski; brother-in-law, Herman Wedgren; and sister-in-law, Deborah Mazurowski. The family extends sincere appreciation to family friends Katherine and Robert Smith for offering their love and assistance to Frank and his family; Nurse Jean Wellenstein from the VA Clinic for her help and support; Dr. Wassel and his Dialysis Team; and the nurses, aides, and staff of the Heritage Health Care Center for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held Sunday from 11:00-1:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Frank’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Monday at 1:30 at Historic Old St. John’s Church where his Memorial Mass with Military Honors will be offered by Rev. John Buehler.
