Mr. Frank M. "Uncle Frank" Giudice

UTICA – Mr. Frank M. “Uncle Frank” Giudice, age 81, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Born on September 11, 1940 to the late Michael and Jennie (Tomaino) Giudice, Frank was raised in Utica. He graduated from T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1958. He was on the Varsity Football Team, was Basketball Manager, and a member of the Bowling Club. He went on to further his education at Utica College majoring in Mathematics. On March 15, 1980, Frank married the love of his life, Celeste J. Marks. The pair shared a loving and blessed union for 35 years until her passing on November 29, 2015. Following in his family’s footsteps, Frank worked from a very young age in his uncles’ meat market. Eventually, his hard work and dedication lead him to own and operate Frank’s Quality Meats located on Bleecker St. where he was famous for his home-made sausage. If you could describe Frank’s life in one word, it would be the word Sacrifice. He was selfless, giving, and never wanted more than he needed. He was always there for his loved ones whether it be uprooting where he lived, being a helping hand in so many ways, or giving his time with a listening ear and an open heart. A very spiritual man, Frank was dedicated to our Lord, reciting the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy daily. He was a big part of the Sullivan’s monthly Rosary Group, always making everyone feel welcome. He was a member of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church’s community volunteering his time in many capacities. Frank loved his Italian heritage, the Yankees, Gunsmoke, and was proud of his garden. He loved walking in the woods, hunting with his favorite beagle, Buster, and mushrooming. Most of all Frankie loved spending time with his grandchildren and said recently – “It was the best time of my whole life”. Frank is survived by his step-daughter, Deborah J. Sullivan and her husband John Sullivan, with whom he resided. He shared a special bond with Deborah and affectionately referred to her as his “Little Debbie.” He also leaves behind his step-son, Kenneth P. Zanio. He held close the memory of his step-daughter, Joyce A. Zanio, who passed away on December 7, 2018. Frank truly embraced Celeste’s children as his own. He will be lovingly remembered by his step-grandchildren, Christopher O. and Jessica Bussonnais, Morgan C. and Michael Hogue, Jaime A. and Anthony Migliaccio, and Korie J. Kennett. He is also survived by his step-great-grandchildren, Christopher O. Bussonnais II and his mother Jennifer DeFazio, Aurora C. Hogue, Cory Miller, and Jaxton Gaumer; his in-laws, John and Elena Sammons, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His nieces Jennylyn Gross and Michele MacKenzie and their families held a special place in his heart. Frank was predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Antoinette and Malcolm MacKenzie, Santa and Frank Romanowski, and Theresa J. Giudice. He joins his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Anna (DeMarco) Marks; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maria C. and Joseph Cariglio. Frank earned the love and respect of many special friends throughout his lifetime, especially his dear friend Joe “Biff” who preceded him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the ICU staff at MVHS at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for their loving, kind, and compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022 from 10:15-11:15 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. Frank’s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 at the church. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
