Mr. Frank DeLuca

UTICA - Mr. Frank DeLuca, age 87, was reunited with his wife when he passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Johnstown, Rhode Island on June 2, 1930, Frank was the son of the late Giovanni and Philomena DeLuca. He was raised and educated in his home town. On July 6, 1957, he married the former Pearl Aloia. They nurtured and supported one another throughout their union of 59 years. Pearl passed away on November 25, 2016, and their children know they are at peace, now that they are together again. Frank worked as an Insurance adjuster for the General Adjustment Bureau. He took pride in his profession and was known to many as a dedicated and fair adjuster. By nature, Frank was a reserved man, but the best and brightest side of him was brought out by his loving wife, Pearl. They enjoyed socializing together with family and friends. Frank was a good provider to his family and always a supportive dad. He had a significant role in the lives of his grandchildren, watching them throughout their childhood and attending every school function. When Frank’s great-grandsons came along, he found himself renewed. Every year, holidays and special occasions were celebrated with great enthusiasm and Pearl could always rely on Frank to follow through with his “duties”. Frank leaves a legacy of many memories and life lessons for his loved ones to pass on to future generations. Frank is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Lori and Mark Mariano, and Lisa DeLuca; beloved grandchildren, Kristyn and Jason McHugh, and Mark Mariano and Rebecca Potter; loving great-grandchildren, Nolan McHugh, and Gavin McHugh; sister, Mary Croce. He was predeceased by his sister, Carmella DeLuca; and brother-in-law, Louis Croce. The family is grateful to Dr. Fred Talarico and staff for their compassionate care; and the personnel of the Siegenthaler Center who provided Frank with comfort, peace, and dignity during his final days. The family honored and commemorated Frank’s life at a private time and he was entombed with his wife in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
