Mr. Francis Raymond "Frankie" Macri

UTICA – Mr. Francis Raymond “Frankie” Macri, age 65, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Born in Utica on October 29, 1958, Francis was the son of the late Peter J. Macri, Sr. and the late Rose (Reile) Ryder. He also knew the love and guidance of his late stepfather, Charles L. “Charlie” Ryder. Frankie attended John F. Hughes Elementary School and was a graduate of T. R. Proctor High School. At one time, he worked as a Laborer at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. In his early days, he was a gifted athlete, playing on various football and basketball teams. His success amassed him a nice trophy collection! Frankie also loved cars, especially Corvettes. He could often be found listening to music, especially Bruce Springsteen and the band Boston. Frankie also had an excellent sense of humor. He attended Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes Campus. Frankie is survived by his sister, Sandra M. “Sandy” McNamara; his brother, Peter J. Macri, Jr.; his brother-in-law, John M. McNamara; his niece, Erin Claire McNamara and Jim Moore; and many cousins, especially Rosemary Vasile. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Catherine (Ebbole) Macri; his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Lucy (Licari) Reile; and his aunts and uncles, Carmella and Alphonse J. Vasile, Louis J. And Josephine Macri, Rocco F. and Flora Macri, Joseph A. Reile, Joseph and Marion Macri, and Frank and Joan Macri. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Rescue Mission of Utica, the Pines at Utica Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, and the Willow Park Assisted Living Facility for their care and compassion throughout the years. The family will honor and commemorate his life in a private gathering. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Francis’ Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes Campus, 2222 Genesee St. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. Memorial contributions in Frankie’s honor may be made to the Rescue Mission of Utica online at www.uticamission.org or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org/donate; envelopes will also be available at the service. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
