Mrs. Francine Rose (Grainer) Grippe

FRANKFORT – Mrs. Francine Rose (Grainer) Grippe, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2024. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her loving family. Born in Little Falls on August 31, 1952, Francine was the daughter of the late Francis “Red” and Lorraine (Rose) Grainer. Raised in the area, she attended local schools. Francine was wed to Robert “Bob” Grippe on September 28, 1968. The couple shared a blessed union creating many beautiful memories filled with family and love. At one time Francine held a CNA position at the Ilion Hospital, as well as the Masonic Care Community. Her main focus was her role as a mother and homemaker. Possessing a kind and loving heart, Francine was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Always happiest when she was with her family, she cherished the everyday gathering at the kitchen table just as much as holiday celebrations. Never judgmental, she was quiet, unassuming, and soft-spoken. Francine loved going for a car ride with her husband, regardless of the destination. She particularly enjoyed Pine Lake, a sentimental stop where she would reminisce about meeting Bob there. Closer to home, it’s easy to envision her at the table with a smoke, a cup of coffee, her crossword puzzle, and maybe a sweet or two. Francine is survived by her beloved husband, Bob; her children and their loves, Robert Grippe, Eric and Deana Grippe, Branden Grippe and Dylan Butterwick, and Brenda and Kevin Mooney; grandchildren, Tyler Grippe, Kiley and Paige Dedla, Jesse “J.J.” Dedla, Ayden Mooney, Jordan Medlin and Jacob Switzer; Brianna Grippe, and Danielle Grippe; and great-granddaughter, Quinn Switzer. She fondly remembered her brother, Bruce F. Grainer, who passed away on March 28, 2023. She further leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; stepmother-in-law, Arlene (Mallozzi) Grippe; and in-laws, Kathy and Bill Evans, and Francis and Cindy Grippe. She loved her babies, the family canine companions, Finley, and Elvin. She was additionally predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony S. “Tony” and Dorothy (Sgroi) Grippe. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Brehaut, her physician, and MaryAngela, her practitioner for their care and professionalism; as well as the nursing staff on the third floor at Wynn Hospital for their compassion. In honoring Francine’s wishes, there will be no public services. Her family will honor and commemorate her life privately.
