Frances M. (Martino) Voce

Mrs. Frances M. (Martino) Voce, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Katherine Luther Residential & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Utica on January 30, 1934, Frances was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Edith May (Terry) Martino. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of St. Francis De Sales High School. On October 2, 1954 she was joined in matrimony to Joseph A. Voce; they enjoyed 56 years together in a marriage that treasured their family above all else. They were good to each other and supportive during good and bad times. Her beloved Joseph passed away on November 3, 2010. For over 28 years, Frances was employed by the Utica National Insurance Company. In more recent years, she held a position at AFSA Data Corporation. A loving matriarch, Frances warmed the hearts of her family and the hearth of her home when she lovingly decorated in preparation for celebrating the holidays. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling with her husband, creating ceramic collectibles, needle working, and reading. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Frances is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha A. and Michael LaBella of Utica, Susan M. Robinson and John Polchinski of Whitesboro, Donna and Walter Hickman of MA, and Sandy and Robert VanDeusen of Westmoreland; her sons and daughter-in-law, Steven D. and Beth Voce of NH, and John P. Voce of Schenectady. Always close to her heart was the memory of her son, Joseph M. Voce, who preceded her in death on April 13, 2008. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, James and Erin Robinson, Andrea and Matt Voorhees, Brian and Megan Robinson; Justin Voce, Erik Hickman, Jennifer Hickman; Rachel VanDeusen, Mark VanDeusen; Amanda Voce, Melissa and Nick Marcotte, Theresa and Chris Bolduc; Daniel and Tracy Voce, Jeremy M. Sullivan, Daniella J. Voce, and William J. Voce; and her 23 great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws Joan Martino, Margaret Martino, Karen Martino, Frank and Geri Voce, John Voce and Carol DeNigro, and Anthony and Francine Voce; and her special friend, Julie Moore. She was predeceased by her brothers, Louis Martino, James Martino, and Joseph Martino. The family offers thanks to the staff of the Bryant Unit at the Katherine Luther Residential & Rehabilitation Center, especially Jackie, who cared for Frances with compassion. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Frances’ funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
