Frances A. (Farda) Perry

Mrs. Frances A. (Farda) Perry, age 79, of North Utica, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in the privacy of her home with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica on October 28, 1930, Frances was the daughter of the late Frederick and Susan (DelMonte) Farda. She was raised and educated in Utica. On October 17, 1947 she married Floyd E. Perry who passed away on February 11, 1997; Frances and Floyd were a loving couple who took their 50-year union to heart with devotion and commitment. They did everything together and embraced their lives as one. Frances was the owner and operator of Fran’s Restaurant which was located at the Oneida County Airport. Upon closure of the restaurant, Frances acquired a position at Friendly’s Restaurant on Burrstone Road. But her home was her heart was and she was a strong, vibrant matriarch, meticulous in all her endeavors, and full of life and love. Very generous of heart and energetic of body, she would often run circles around her loved ones. She was proudly known to her family as the best cook ever, especially her meatballs and sauce. Frances always shared her recipes with her son-in-law and they loved talking politics. During her leisure time she enjoyed bingo, horse racing, dancing, and her weekly card club meetings with her friends. She was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church. Frances is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Susan Post of Utica, Sheila Post and Chuck LaRocco , and Nanette and Vincent Malagese, Sr. of Whitesboro; her grandchildren, Ronald, Jr. and Melisa Post, Tammy and Andrew Parise, Todd Post, Melissa and Jeff Robinson, Deanna and James Hannigan, Dan Montana, Army Specialist James Post, Vincent Malagese, Jr., and Jason Floyd and Laura Malagese; and her many great-grandchildren. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Helen Perry of Long Island; and her dear and cherished family friend, Ronald Post, Sr. of Frankfort. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Constabile. The family is grateful to Frances’ healthcare provider and dear friend, Sally O’Callahan; and the Utica Police Department officers for their timely and compassionate response. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Frances’ funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday morning at 10:00 from the funeral home and 11:00 at St. Mark’s Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
