Mrs. Frances D. "Fran" (Bruno) Nicolette

WHITESBORO – Mrs. Frances D. “Fran” (Bruno) Nicolette, age 84, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Lutheran Home of CNY with her loving family by her side. The daughter of the late Jerry and Anna (Piperata) Bruno, Fran was born in Utica on August 10, 1932, and was raised and educated locally. Fran was married on June 4, 1955, to Salvatore J. Nicolette. It was a close and dedicated union, full of love and respect which endured until Salvatore’s passing on January 20, 2013. At one time, Fran held a position at NY Central Railroad; she eventually retired from General Electric at the French Road location. Strength was a great part of Fran’s character: she possessed a strong will and a hard-working ethic. Her loving and kind heart led her to encourage and support everyone around her, especially her family, which was the center of her world. Fran had many interests which included cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, and gardening; she also took great interest in the New York Yankees, especially “Jeter”. She loved the camaraderie of her “Girlfriends Club” and the companionship of her canines, especially Magic. A member of the St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, Fran had a spiritual nature and held a deep and abiding faith. Fran is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Michael Padula of Oriskany, NY; her son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore and Barbie Nicolette of Whitesboro, NY; her grandchildren, Andrew Nicolette, and Sydney Nicolette; and her sister, Diana R. Grumboski of South Carolina. Survivors also include sisters-in-law, Marie Bruno, and Rosalie Nicolette; brother-in-law, Donald R. Paciello; and her longtime friend, Angie Cannistra. Fran was predeceased by her sister, Shirley A. Paciello; her brother, Jerry D. Bruno; and her brother-in-law, Richard V. Grumboski. The family wishes to thank the Lutheran Home of CNY, especially acknowledging the Gordon Unit, and the staff of Brookdale for their care and friendship. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Fran’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Kaminski. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
