Mrs. Frances (Brutto) Getti

UTICA - Mrs. Frances (Brutto) Getti went home to the Lord on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the age of 80. At the time of her passing, Frances was in the presence of her brother Peter, and in the hearts of her family members who loved her. Frances was born in Utica on October 12, 1942, to the late Salvatore J. “Sam” and Irene (Kukowski) Brutto. She was a graduate of Brandegee Elementary School and T. R. Proctor High School. On June 29, 1985, Frances married the love of her life, Vito “Jack” Getti, Jr. They lived a harmonious life, and were able to celebrate 30 years of wedded bliss prior to his passing on December 5, 2015. The family takes solace knowing Frances and Jack are now reunited. The majority of Frances’ working years were spent as an administrative assistant with UFCW. She was known for her dedication, positivity, and poise in the workplace. In life, Frances was always dependable. She followed through with every commitment she made. She was meticulous, graceful, and kind. She was always strong and determined in difficult situations. Shopping, lunch, and a trip to the hairdresser was Frances’ idea of a great day! In recent years these outings were usually accompanied by her niece Debra, as Deb loved each day with her. Sunday dinners were important to Frances as a time for family to be together. She made sure the next generation knew their responsibilities and they fulfilled them which gave her great joy. Frances was a lifelong Catholic. She was faithful and loved the Lord. Her family parish was St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Frances is survived by her sister, Carol Ambrose and her late husband Donald J. Ambrose; her brother, Peter and Donna S. Brutto; her nieces and nephews, Donald and Tina Ambrose, Debbie and Michael Malek, Dana and Nick Mosca, Deanna Ambrose and Phil Sbarra; Stephanie Brutto, Erica and Eric Leo, and Olivia Brutto and Shawn Hughes. Also surviving are several great-nieces and great-nephews. Frances was blessed to know the love of her late husband’s children, step-daughter, Lisa Getti, and step-son and his wife, Jeffrey and Stephanie Getti, and their children Brianna Kempisty, Jaeden Kempisty, Owen Getti, and Olivia McArthur. She is also survived by a number of cousins, but was especially close to Theresa Jensen. At this age, it was truly a pleasure for her to have a special aunt “Chu-Chi” Florence Kukowski. She was blessed with the friendship of Geri Cannistra and Camille Bianco who were so thoughtful and kind. She was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vito “Jack” Sr., and Elvira Getti; and her brother-in-law, Gene R. Getti. Frances was elated to have found an aide who was such a wonderful match for her personality and the two became dear friends, much gratitude to Diane. Frances’ family will commemorate her life at a private time. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend Frances’ Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of life which will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay St. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of the service. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
