Felicia C. (Pacciarelli) Caporale

Felicia C. (Pacciarelli) Caporale, age 73, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center surrounded by the love and support of her family. Born in Bronx, NY on December 12, 1939, Felicia was the daughter of the late Ferdinando “Fred” and Ann M. “Grandma Sam” (Santomassino) Pacciarelli. She came to Utica as a young girl and attended T.R. Proctor High School. At one time, she was married to Pasquale F. “Pat” Caporale, Sr. who passed away on December 7, 2012. At one time, Felicia was employed by Baker’s Greenhouse, the position from which she retired. Upon leaving the workforce, Felicia enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Sally Filipkowski, in the entrepreneurial adventure of the inception of Home Gifts Galore. Felicia was a loyal, encouraging, loving, and caring woman who always offered a helping hand. She held a fierce and protective love for her family, and a special pride of her precious grandchildren. Her friends and family marveled at the strength she showed throughout the adversities she faced. She enjoyed time with her friends in the Card Club, and her hobbies of gardening, frequenting the casino, and taking trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Felicia is survived by her children and their spouses, Pasquale “Pat”, Jr. and Heidi Caporale of Marcy, Loriann Heitz and Scott Heitz of Utica, and Kimberly and William Smith, Jr. of Deerfield; and her grandchildren, Justin Caporale; Brittany Heitz of whom her Nani referred to as her “Rosebud”, and Collin Heitz; Will Smith III, and Gabriel Smith. She also leaves her special and devoted friend, Sarah “Sally” Filipkowski, who was her caregiver and friend for over 40 years; her nephew, Brian Pacciarelli of Chicago; and her sister-in-law, Paula Pacciarelli of Utica. She was predeceased by her brother, Angelo F. “Sonny” Pacciarelli; infant niece, Tammy Lee Pacciarelli; and her nephew, Freddy Pacciarelli. The family extends sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Regional Cancer Center for the care and concern shown to Felicia. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00-6:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Felicia’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Pasik. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
