Erin Lizabeth Lopez

WEBSTER, NY - Erin Lizabeth Lopez, age 31, was called home by the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Born in Sacramento, California on October 24, 1988, Erin was the daughter of Kelhi M. (Korrie) Giarrusso and her father Rodney who she loved and respected. She was a graduate of Gregory B. Jarvis Junior/Senior High School in Mohawk. She then attended Monroe Community College and the Continental International School of Beauty, both located in Rochester. She shared in a relationship with Adam Vassor and to that union came the blessing of their daughter, Ava Elyse. They were destined for one another, and had a true love. They shared in unbelievable co-parenting skills, and Adam will always be part of this unified family. He will always shine the light for Ava to know the love of her Mommy. Erin was an amazing, giving soul, and could also graciously accept the kindness of others. She stood by her family and friends and held a high level of loyalty that could not be matched. You could feel her presence when she walked into a room, and people would be drawn to her like a magnet. She was straight and to the point, usually followed by her unique and outrageous laughter. A protective person, she always watched out for her siblings, even from a very young age. She welcomed others into her life and left loving messages of sentiment. She was a joyous child who loved music and danced with rhythm. As a young woman, she was a voice for the voiceless and stood up to social injustice. She was well-known, well-liked, and truly a “rare jewel”. She was one-of-a-kind, not to be duplicated. She was also very entertaining, and because she carried herself with such confidence, she was able to pull off anything! She was spontaneous and up to a challenge, especially playing board games, enjoying movie night, hiking with Adam and Ava, and taking trips to Stony Brook Park where she was so proud to show her family the beauty of that environment. The lyrics of many genres of music were profound for her and moved her soul. Erin was passionate about tending to the elderly and always wanted to be of service to others because it gave her a great sense of accomplishment. Erin was an amazing mom, wise and invested in her daughter’s education. At home they read together, did arts and crafts, and watched educational programs. She loved that little girl so much and taught her to share love and Christianity. She ended every conversation with the words “I love you”! When Erin was in the presence of her mom, Kelhi, she knew unconditional love and hope; she was in a safe place and their family home was a haven. Kelhi always had her back, as good mothers always do. She was watchful and intuitive. Kelhi and Erin had many amazing moments in their lives, and it appears in retrospect that they were both most peaceful when they were in each other’s heart. God watched over her life, and these past 8 months have been epic. The quality of Erin’s life was paramount to Kelhi, and she brought such joy to her mom which will be the rock upon which she stands. Erin loved spending time and appreciated the attention that she shared with her dad Rodney. It is so apparent now how important this was to her. He knew her well, and he taught her to strive for good moral accomplishments. Erin was an amazing, thunderous woman who took the world on with much courage and conviction. She was very strong in her Christian faith and taught others about our Savior as a source of rescue and redemption, and our Guardian Angels are always by our side so we are never alone. Erin is survived by her beautiful daughter, Ava Elyse, age 4, and her daddy, Adam Vassor; her mom and dad, Kelhi and Rodney; her sister and brother-in-law, Thyamara and Ian Roseen; her brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Renee Lopez; cherished niece, Cecelia “C” Mertz; and her maternal grandfather, Anthony Korrie. She also leaves her aunts and uncles, Robert and Bridget Korrie with whom she shared a special bond, and their children, Brett Korrie, Devin and Kaitlin Korrie, and Sara Korrie and Michael Hubbard; Joe and Maria Bonfardeci, and Jennifer and Kevin Norris; Adam Vassor’s family, including Dan Vassor, Great Grandpa Vassor, Debbie and Dan Grice, Alan and Jennifer Vassor, and their children; and her extended family. Erin was also blessed with many friendships and close loved ones, including her AA and HA families. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Florence (Grizzuto) Korrie; her maternal great-grandmother, Angie Grizzuto; her paternal grandparents, Donald Giarrusso, and Janet (Clark) Crimmins and her husband George “Digger”. The family is grateful for all the many family members and friends who have been a part of Erin’s life and brought so much comfort through their love and compassion. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to the family enabling them to establish a Scholarship Fund for Erin’s daughter, Ava Elyse; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Erin’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday evening at 7:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation. “She was a free spirit who lived her life like a comet that soared through the sky and leaves a bright light. She was spectacular.”
