Mr. Eric Carleton "Coz" Holliman

UTICA – Mr. Eric Carleton “Coz” Holliman, age 64, unexpectedly went home to the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2024. Born in Utica on November 6, 1959, Eric was the son of Rufus “Doc” Holliman and the late Vivian May “Chakra” Duncan. He was a proud graduate of Utica Free Academy. Eric was a kind soul and true pacifist with a loving heart. Despite his many obstacles, he never complained. He had a tremendous devotion to his mother. Both a “computer geek” and sports fan, Eric loved spending time on his PC and watching wrestling, especially WWE. He also spent some of his free time listening to his scanner. Eric had an impeccable memory and intelligence, and he was quick-witted as well. You could quiz him on various topics and most likely he would provide an accurate answer. Eric held a strong devotion to his Lord, knowing that he would see his mom again with his Lord. Eric is survived by his father, Rufus; his sisters and their loves, Candace “Candy” Maddox-Duncan and Lox Stewart, and Tammy and Anthony Nevith; and his brother, Bryce Duncan. He cherished the memory of his brother, Gerard Maddox who preceded him. He also leaves his memory to his nieces and nephews, Kevin Jefferson, Calvin and Lorna Best; Deanna Preston; and Sierra Williams; great-nieces and great-nephews, Nyishaun Jefferson, Kaishaun Jefferson, the cherished memory of Taylor Best, Makayla Best, Samantha Best; aunts and uncles, Geraldine and Jim Regan, Lawrence and Marge Holliman, and Rev. Johnny Stenson; special sisters, Darlene Mack-Brown, and Robin Weathers; and his special friend, Jerome Lacy, whom he always considered family. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Lorenzo U. and Letti B. Holliman, and John and Cora (Hurd) Duncan; and his aunts and uncles, Herbert T. and Bennie Lee (Bell) Holliman, Roy Holliman, Sarah Duncan, Evelyn “Lady E.” Stenson, and Geraldine and John R. Davis. The family wishes to thank the dialysis unit at the Faxton Hospital for their care and compassion, and to Bishop Kathy Hughes for her spiritual guidance. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Eric’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in New Forest Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
