Mr. Eddie "Tee" Suarez

Mr. Eddie “Tee” Suarez passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at his home. It was his 54th birthday. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 28, 1962, Eddie was the son of the late Diego, Sr. and Margarita (Bernard) Suarez. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn. On December 28, 1996 he married the former Diane P. Mellott with whom he shared 20 years in a loving and devoted union. At one time, Eddie worked in the field of construction. A caring man, he was deeply family-oriented. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his children, and he was always there for them. He loved the time he spent with his grandchildren, especially on their walks when he would surprise them with treats. He was also supportive of his siblings and shared daily concerns with them and went from one to the other to keep in touch. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a big heart. He was the life of the party and loved music and DJ-ing. He was a good cook, a meticulous housekeeper, and a gifted carpenter who shared his talents with his loved ones. During his younger years in Brooklyn, Tee excelled in handball. Eddie is survived by his wife, Diane; his daughters, Ivy J. Suarez and fiance Eric Foster of Clinton, Emily M. Suarez and Brandon Liggins, Joann Mellott, and Alice Mellott, all of Utica; and his grandchildren, Elijah Abbott, twins Ivalyss Foster and Izayah Foster; Aiyana Mejias, and Skylynn Liggins. He was proud to know that he was expecting a grandson in February. He also leaves his sisters, Lida Suarez and Hector Roman, and Evelyn Suarez, all of Utica; Yvette Suarez of Brooklyn, and Lillian Suarez of Utica; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Miguel Suarez and Nora Figueroa, and Jose Suarez, all of Brooklyn, Carlos and Mirna Suarez of NC, Robert and Maria Suarez of Florida, and Hector and Janice Suarez of North Carolina; and his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends, Manuel Narvuez, and Johnny Bay of Coney Island. He was predeceased by his brothers, Angel, Diego Jr., Luis, and Edwin “Jap”; and his sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Primitivo Flores. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 3:30-5:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Eddie's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Eddie’s niece, Nancy Flores, officiating the ceremony. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
